The beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains is breathtaking...The drive through them is treacherous for someone like me who is used to flatlands and straight highways...I have survived each trip through them with an increased appreciation for the world they represent...an unspoiled paradise that is thankfully preserved for all of us to see and enjoy...

Another terrific video, Dan...I think before all is said and done you will be one of the greatest ambassadors the smokies has ever had.

Our family has so many wonderful memories of our visits and hikes, too. Many years ago my son's first hike was on his Dad's back, in a Gerry baby carrier, up to the Alum Cave Bluffs and my daughter's first hike was to Laural Falls.
