i had a squier strat once it sucked so hard when i would bend notes the strings would get stuck on the pickup poles and you couldn't adjust the height of them it was made out of crappy plywood too the day i got my real fender sold the squire was the best day of my life
After watching a few other versions (and especially Jeff Beck's) I can see it's not 100% correct but thanks! The main thing I got wrong is not staying on certain sections long enough.
Pretty nice, but you still need a mixer to plug a guitar into it. So you're probably better off buying a USB interface specifically for guitar, which will save you having to buy 2 different things.
Pretty cool playing, good feel of the notes like a true pro. You play pretty cool compared to other jeff beck's live performance. Nice to know we both like jeff beck music. hope you dont mind me sharing my bad way of interpretation of cause weve ended as lovers. i dont have pratice when i record, next time i'll do a better one
The iMic sounds so clean despite running it through the Line 6. No fuzz or popping! I am impressed, it really makes for a nice clean sound on your sweet playing.
very well played man. l liked your tune. I have a vid of a guitar song of mine called ¨she was born with the light¨ i´d like you to tell me what you think of it, i will take it wery especially if it comes from a Beck´s fan! ha-ha. bye ;)
Thanks for the replies upst8!!! I have to develop that picking technique further I think... :) By the way, I also use a squier strat and I think it is a great guitar. Thanks again upst8!
I did go direct out of the headphone jack, which makes it hard to play because you don't hear the sustain -just an unamplified guitar. It could be that I'm kind of lifting up the strings with my index finger pretty high and letting them snap (as opposed to Jeff Beck, who kind of thumps them with his thumb) but I think the main reason is the $89.00 (used) Squier Strat - it is really twangy - much more so than my Fender Telecaster (which I just sold, actually.)
Oh sorry - I just saw this comment. That is an Affinity (a.k.a. Made in China) Squier. Which are considered something of a beginner model. I've since bought a Fender Made in Mexico Strat (in the same exact color), which is a step up, but I still like the Squier - it's light, and it sounds really good, I think.
...I understand that it is also due to the picking technique, but I am still a little bit off that tone of yours. The twang is there, but not that noticable and nice as yours. Is it at a higher volume, that you are playing on? Are you using the headphone output for recording or is the amp miked?
Very nice sound and playing! The sound is actually very Dire Straits like, which I greatly prefer! Upst8: could you give me some hints on where the amp controls were set during this recording? Of course if you remember still... I am looking for this sound on my spiderIII using the twang green (Fender Tweed + Tweed Bassman + Gibson explorer) amp model. I am close but something is not quite right: that nice sweet "twang" that most of the notes begin with...
I probably had the Drive, channel volume and master around 4, Bass and Mid around 6, and the treble rolled all the way down becasue I find the amp to be very trebly. Thanks for the comment!
Very good version man, can you watch mine, please?

Your an idiot who knows nothing about guitars.
ANY Squier can be made to play and sound good if you know how to set a guitar up properly.
You obviously dont.

Very nice! Thank you very much for sharing it. You play it so clean that it's very helpful for learning to play the song with detail.
