You couldn`t be more wrong- the OnGARD is designed in such a way that it would be impossible to remove the OnGARD via a Slim- Jim. Even if you could find a way to insert the slim jim on an upward angle- it would still be impossible to lift up the block up and out of the female plate. With all due respect this is one of the first items that was addressed during the engineering process.

This would be so easy to defeat. Just a slim bar slid under the door and in between the lock and the base and then pop it up. 2 seconds max. If they has a small dam or stop on the base it would stop this.

That's a pretty solid looking piece of kit. Anything that gives me an extra few seconds to get to the 12 ga under the couch (living room), the .45 in the nightstand drawer (bedroom), the .357 magnum in the desk drawer (home office), the .38 in the silverware drawer (kitchen) or the 9mm in my holster (anywhere I am) is something I may be interested in.

This might sound silly, but is it possible robbers can use a magnet or something from the outside of the door to lift it off it's brace?

Or even break the glass and drop a hook device and lift it off?

In all of my years in the security industry I have never heard of that or something similar happening. Burglars are about speed - typicly when an intruder comes upon the ONGARD they move on to the next house.

However anything is possible!

When I installed my gun safe I didn't drill through the tiles, but my buddy who has said you have to stay away from the grouted edges, drill a tiny-pilot hole, and progressively drill larger each time...

Great question- If you dont have a garage type door to exit--then you are correct. However the OnGARD could be utilized on all doors excluding the door you exit. Needless to say- many homeowners have a garage to exit from-but not all.
