Obvious fact no1: your piano skills are great ---//--- no2: your piano sounds shit (could be the recording equipment?) and it spoils everything for me.
to all of those ignorants, this piece is not ment to be played like a waltz since it is a unique version so start criticizing it for what it is, oh and you need a grand piano, that piano in not enough for you
Your skills are wonderful. I'm sorry, but this piece is awful. It is a waltz. It had to be calm. It is so full of ornaments and it doesn't had to be like this. U can't understand anything.
Don't get me wrong, amazing piano playing but why do that to a piece of music that is supposed to be graceful and refined - if you want to practice your scales, then do so outside of The blue Danube....after all it is a waltz!
That's some piano shredding if I've ever seen it. Stunning, but it sounded like you gave it a bit too much pedal at parts. Or maybe it's the room acoustics/piano. Like one of the other comments said, your performance deserves a fine piano.
Obviously this pianist is the product of an unholy great affair between Georgy Cziffra and Simon Barrere.
Needs and richly DESERVES the finest Steinway.
I would love to hear this man play some "real" music.
But PLEASE don't knock the vivid vulgarity & rabid excesses of Cziffra's arrangements. It's all a great big Circus Act. He had it, and so he flaunted it. It doesn't pretend to be Beethoven.
Listz, Thalberg and other great pianists, and all musicians in the past made some very interesting transcription. Even if there wasn't recording these transcripts made easy the diffusion and knowledge of different music and opera. Stop nonsense please.
Thanks! This guy is a pianistic genius. Too bad he wasn't able to record on a good piano. This upright doesn't begin do him justice.
Have you heard Stephen Hough, by the way? He's a terrific virtuoso, but also very sensitive and creative. Stephen has made all sorts of wonderful transcriptions. A mystery why some players become famous and other -- often much greater -- talents remain obscure.
they focus on the art of music making, not the profession. those obscure yet great players remain obscure because they do not care to be famous; they just spread music!
You are excellent, don't worry about the jalous dwarfs.
About the wristband : you are wearing it is funny because it was not Cziffra's secret, he had to wear it because his wrist was distroyed in the 2nd world war , because He had to dig too much.
Hey inhuman kid: I did not say the pianist was bad, I said that this version of the Danube is schlocky and sounds like practicing scales and octaves and stuff... Not the pianist's technique. Of you don't understand what people are writing, then don't comment, ok? (Yes, I do scales myself, to warm up).
Ante has great technique, I'd love to hear it on some better music, something classier , like Ligeti's Devil's Staircase. Please don't bother answering this, you will just be wasting your time.
Bravo !!! Until now I tought nobody could play this transcription, only Cziffra. So,Thank you for this performance, The Schulz-Evler version is just an easy finger exercise to compare with this.
I must agree with you. It sounds like someone practicing scales and such.... I love the famous Schulz Evler transcription, which retains the elegance of the original. This is a lot of banging away. Though kudos to the pianist, really...
great how long did it take u to learn this piece so well, if i may ask? and how long have u been playing piano.. id love to know im learning piano now thx
It's a shame the piano is so dreadfully out of tune!

Very brave but remember Cziffra also plays with charm and humour not just ff and fast. The acoustic is too resonant and makes it noisy.

So big contrast: a piano player of highest class and a piano that is good enough for a provincial caffe-bar ! (Perhaps it only needs tuning)

I think the bigger issue here is that the piano is in desperate need of a tuning and is likely being played in a closet.

Horrid. Absolutely horrid cacophony.
Those who cannot compose, take someone else's composition and "improvise".

If you listen to Cziffra's recording, it's not all that cacaphonous (no offense to this pianist, excellent job in fact)
