  • (I hope you get this). I am noticing that my custom image that I import for a DVD menu background is very "squished" and not to the portion of the preview screen. Is there a way to have an image of normal portion? Or will ConvertXtoDVD fix the issue when rendering?

  • @montgal52 You should resize you image first to 720x540 if the image is not that big create a new image adding black bars around your image

  • Спасибо за инфо.

  • Extremely well written tutorial. Had everything I needed to know. Thanks. :)

  • @wdcarter thanks for your comment :)

  • 5* Thanks.............

  • @TronTonics thank you :)

  • very helpfull , thank you

  • Thank you very much for this file. I edited a TON of DVDs only to find out my new player can't play them because it needs a menu. So I gotta add them or re-rip my entire collection which is a utter PITA. Not only do I have them in storage and buried but not sure if some would rip again due to being 10+ years old lol.

  • @Twisted86 yeah unfortunately that makes a log of work for you.

  • Thanks a lot! It's so nice and easy :)

  • omg, your voice is soo cute : ) and.. convertXtoDVD is the best software

  • Thanks alot hun... using version 4, but that helped ALOT!

    thanks again!

  • Anyone know how to increase the time an audio file or video file plays in the Title Menu?

  • @OVmail90 you can manually modify this but you cannot be scared to do some coding. There is no setting for this in ConvertXtoDVD, only a user found work around. You can find this in the VSO forum in the ConvertXtoDVD guides section. This feature will be added in a future version though.

  • thank you for your great tutorial.

  • @Kazketon thank you for your comment!

  • Really thank you and I'd like to know if I have a big movie file about 15 GB and I'd like to convert it to HD movies ex. 1080p on a DVD disk (8.5 GB) or (4.7GB). I just like to keep the quality on the frame to 1080p as it was and no matter if less frames(pictures). can I or not? please.

  • I love this program, it's so easy to use..Although the menu is nice, and it's cool to mess with but I don't use that anymore.. I just like my dvd to autopaly.. Yep.

  • The menu background doesnt show up when in the dvd player? please help

  • @terminatorboy12

maybe you changed the title menu background, and if you only converted 1 file, you should have changed the root background menu,

or uncheck "dont create title menu for a single titlre"

  • @vsosoftware Thanks i noticed yesterday!

  • Thanks alot!! i had no idea how to change the bg image so i used to leave the lame black mirror 1 lol

  • @diamond8533 glad the video helped then :)

  • This video was great! Thanks!

  • Thanks for showing me how to change the transparency at 4:40. Was having trouble with that.

If you can help me... I have Version 4 and when I create my Title in simple mode, it is normal like yours. But when I burn it and I look at it afterwards, it either has a red dot of a funky underline mark I can not get rid of. Thanks

  • @TRYER25 I think you should write directly to the support team and send a screenshot of the result you are getting and why it looks weird.

  • @vsosoftware Thanks for the reply. The problem I was having was in the file Program Files\VSO\ConvertX\4\templates\minimal called "puce", which looked like the file "page" in the same file. I had to convert it in Paint into a single pixel.

  • Hello, i got ConverXtoDVD 4 but when i add the background it shows it in the video preview but when its done converting and i burn it on a dvd it wont show the background in the Menu but it shows it in the chapter? I have read your reply to premachu3 who has the same problem but i still dont understand it i am sorry so if you could help me it would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • @Mister1372 there is a root menu and a title menu, change the background in both these menus and you will be fine.

  • @vsosoftware Oke thanks alot.

  • OMFG ITS 'Drag and drop' NOT "DROP AND DRAG".....why did I get so angry over that?

  • I cannot find anywhere on how to add a video clip w/ audio to a background. I've tried almost every way and it doesnt show up on the dvd when I play it. Any suggestions about my settings etc..

  • @jolinejb some templates do not allow this. You need to change the menu template to get some features like audio to back ground menu.

  • @vsosoftware Yes i Know, I always use the glossy as default. Are there only certain ones of those that do it as well.. Well I updated to the new 4. something and it did it., So maybe it was with the last edition I had which was 3. something

  • @vsosoftware ok. see right after I got the new edition it did what I wanted to, I added the video background by clicking backgrnd vid/image under titlemenuparameters and it wrkd yesterday. Now today I go to do it again and it doesnt work. I didnt do nothing different. What is going on?? the only things clicked are skip root menu and return to title menu and im using VSO glossy template.

  • @jolinejb write to the vso technical support if you have problems trouble shooting on youtube is too difficult. Thanks.

  • Arrrrrrrgh!! Every time I try, the image doesn't appear. And sometimes it still takes a clip from the beginning of the video. I can't add my personal audio either. I guess I'll just never have a good "Smurfs" dvd unless I buy it. *sighs*

  • This video really helps. thank you!

  • thanks alot

  • Hey thanks for the video,. Is there anyway to save your custom template once you created one so you can use over and over again?

  • @cyberbotzero not really but there is a workaround proposed in the chm manual you can download from the vso software website

  • @vsosoftware, when my dvd is finished burning the image dosnt appear

  • @premachu3 how many videos are you converting? If just 1 you need to change the root menu background or, you need to uncehck 'do not include title menu if converting only 1 filr'

  • Question... I use CX4 and Im trying to import one movie file and burn it, however after I customize my menu and click convert, the menu on the resulting product is not what I chose, and it it just the simple version that comes pre loaded? I'm doing everything correctly, just this part doesn't make any sense to me??

  • @Desolatorx2 take a look at the VSO forum. If you are converting only 1 videoe you need to change the root menu, not the title menu, or uncheck do not create titile menu for only 1 file"

  • yep that was it! lol after I posted this comment I looked at the options again and the "do not create title menu when one file is loaded" was pre-selected. So yeah it works now, thanks for reply!

  • @Desolatorx2 ok cool, have a good weekend

  • Do you know how to move the "video picture" in the menu?

  • @krulletmartin you mean the thumbnail? It is not possible to change its position.

  • um thanks for all ur help

    but ive got another problem

sometimes when i finish converting a movie and when i play it i cant hear anything

another quesiton-0 and when i finsih converting a

movie, if i put in back in comp it says that its a blnk disc and if i put in dvd player it just says lodaing fr longest time

but when i put in ps3 it works and when i take out and put in dvd player it works pefectly

    if u can help thanks..

  • @FasdeL8tobathe for the no sound, contact our technical support.

Sounds like for the disks, you have some player? dvd, and dvd drive compatibility problems. This happens especially when using cheap brands of disks.

See if there is a firwmare update for your burner.

We suggest the disks made by: Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Sony

  • um sometimes when i convert movies it makes them into an .iso file instead of making the folder that the program burns

can u tell me how to prevent this cuz i need it to only mke the folder that it can burn

0 and thnx for answering last question

  • b/c in the setting/burning tab, if your burner is not selected files will be converted to iso format and "burnt" to your HD in ISO format. The prblm is why was you burner not listed when conversion started? Is your drive seen by your comp? is it listed under "My Computer"? Do you now see it listed in the settings of XtoDVD? It is possible another software was using your drive and XtoDVD did not see it as available. Make sure to turn of other applications which could communicate w/ your burner

  • So the newer version can change background image of the default Black Mirror? or only the glossy templates?

  • yes on the black mirror you can change and also on the glossy templates also

  • when i make the menus it makes 2 menus

a main menu and a root menu

in the main menu it has the file name then when i press ok on thatthen it takes me to the menu where the play and chapter buttons are

is there a way to remove the MAIN menu where ihave to press ok to go to root menu

so when i put disc in it goes straight to root menu

should i tick the button where it says "dont create title menu for single video"

cuz i only burn one movie on each disc

  • "dont create title menu for single video" - yes

  • Thanks, but it doesn't seem to work on CX2DVD 4

    Im working on W7.

  • well it is compatible windows 7

  • i added a background image but it doesnt show up when i burn it to a disc HELP

  • I suggest writing to tech support.

are you using the latest version.

did you include a title menu? How many videos did you convert?

  • Does the menu video work with .mp4 images?

  • I dont know you have to try

  • thank you, very helpful..

  • How do i get the audio to play through the whole song? i think when i do it it just does a 30 second clip....

  • unfortunately there is no simple setting for this. You can check out the VSO forum though for user work arounds.

  • i have version 2.99.13.900.i doesnt have the black mirror template on it.where can you down load it or do i have to buy the new version?

  • you have a very very very old version, version 4.0 is available on vso's forum, so you need to buy a new license for sure

  • Comment removed

  • where do you find the black mirror templete?

  • in the dvd optios click on the + in the treeview, and then you can select the menu template you want to use

  • Can I just make A ROOT MENU?

    THANKS YOU

  • If you only convert 1 video file yes, otherwise you a title menu will be created always when you add more than 1 video file, unless you choose no menu template. In that case you can choose to only have a title menu and check "skip root menu on start"

  • yeah thank you very much that was it i had to uncheck the "Don't create title menu for single video" :)

  • ok glad to hear it, thanks!

  • plz i need help.. i add the photo to my menu and its shows it to me on the video preview screen like is going well.. but when it finishes all the process and the burning it doesnt have none of it nor the image or the changed title name.. it puts it on default black mirror and no background plz help me

  • how many videos were on your conversion? If just one, then perhaps you need to make sure a title menu was being created and not just the root menu. Under DVD Options you might need to uncheck "Don't create title menu for single video" and "skip root menu initially"

  • i spent an hour fiddling around with it then when i burnt the video to DVD it just came up with the default template

    -.-

  • Are you using the latest version? Did you press the green check mark to select correctly the template? Also could you have gone to the main menu where perhaps the default settings were activated accidentally?

  • it's exelent :D...i have very happy!! thanks! XD

  • cool, glad to hear it

  • thanks, good job ;)

  • thank you

  • at the bottom left of your convertxtodvd: the video quality is shown as "excellent" but mine just says "good"

how can i make it better?

  • By reducing the number of files you are converting. But good is fine. In the quality settings, it is best to leave the setting at medium quality. This will give you the best result for medium length projects.

  • love this software worth 50 bucks!!

  • interesting reaction- I have never heard that before!

  • hi, very good video but i have only one question do you know where i can download more templates for this program?

  • In the VSO forums, under the ConvertXtoDVD section you will find a stickied post with more template downloads.

  • how i convert 2 movies on convertxtodvd_?? like i want to put 2 movies in to the convertxtodvd and its said::One or more files can't be converted.See log for more deatails.

  • you can convert many files onto one DVD, but they need to be valid video files. Can you play the video file ConvertXtoDVD rejected with software like VLC ? What is the extension name of the file you tried to convert? Are you sure the video file is not corrupt?

  • Can i make a dvd so when i pop it in the intro movie i made will play, then it will go to the episode selections?

  • no not possible but check out this post in the vso forum, someone tried to do similar to what you explain.

I cant post a link but search the words "mini bio"

and click on the first link that comes up

  • Thank you.

  • can you help me with this? When i click the Convert Button it says conversion failed, i dunno what happened cause i didn't change anything i just add an AVI file and then i click convert but it always says that. Hmm, i dont know what seems to be the problem...

  • I suggest writing to our technical support they will be able to see what happened exactly by the information sent in your log file.

Or make sure you are using the latest version and if it doesnt work then get a different video file.

can you watch the avi file in a video player such as VLC before converting it?

  • Hmm, does this program support a downloaded video file?

  • Great dvd burning software.

  • hey how do you change were you save the video file to?

  • go to the settings / general tab, and change the working folder. Make sure to provide a complete path, i. e:

    C:\Documents and Settings\ . . . .

  • excellent program, so I can not change the default thumbnail position.o of the program is right on the thumbnails, I saw a video here that a guy has to change the position of the thumbnails from left to right, how do you explain that you could, grateful .I am Brazilian

  • there is no easy way to change the position of the thumbnail. You can check out our forum where some users are modifying the actual templates so the design is different. you should only consider this if you are an advanced user. We ourselves cannot help out on any problems with modified templates as they were not actually designed to be modified.

  • Sometime my dvd player doesn't play menu, so I just set it up as play automatically. I don't care, I just want to burn movies onto a disk.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH..honestly this is the best tutorial i could find in all the net lol... really really thank you!! :D

  • thank you!

    better than reading forums.

    This will help me more

  • uauuu!!!

    nice tutorial

    and what a beautiful voice!

i fell in love with the narrator!

    i loved her!

  • programa excelente para gravar varios arquivos em um dvd, tutorial legal pena que eu não entenda muito inglês.

  • thanks

this video was very useful to me

  • ok great, thanks for the feedback

  • it is version 3, what version 3 I don't remember. I suggest using the latest version available from the VSO Software website.

  • What version are you using please? Mine is not the same...
