He primarily plays to older audiences & theaters that book nostalgia. At his age his voice isn't as flexible as it once was, that happens to all impressionists, so he sticks with characters that are older. The lawyer & wheelchair jokes people probably repeated the next day. But the most important thing to remember if this were a Comedy Club the audience would be young, stupid & drunk & laugh at ANYTHING with a dirty word in it...or without. No one does well here.
Nice to see George being so sensitive about Virginia Tech. Remember when he joked about finding Osama bin Laden? Lame. He couldn't take a joke, can't tell one and this is why he opted out of the fun. But at least Bush was funnier than anything Rich Little did. Even Little knew he was terrible.

We're being too lenient with other countries and busting our asses to help them out. Back in the 1960's Rich Little was "state of the art" sort to speak. Nowadays we're spoiled by the impressionists with just the right make up, and much more funnier material. Rich Little had his day, long ago.
Little used to be great, and he's still great, but he's a little hoarse (from age) now to transition his voice very smoothly. Caliendo's top-dog of the 2000s.
He is funny but some of his impressions aren't that good, I think Frank Caliendo is the better impressionist at least as far as Geroge W. Goes. However in this Rich Little looked exactly like Bush Sr.
Maybe that seemed a bit Harsh, most of his impressions were good. Oh but these people must have no sense of humor, they didn't laugh at some of the funniest parts, Out Standing in a field, that was quite funny no one laughed.
It's so painful to watch the White House Correspondents' Dinner... so many people don't have a sense of humor. Same thing happened to Colbert. Ferguson managed to fare better.
You could make the argument that the crowd wasn't too responsive to him, but this kind of comedy is so long gone, This is due to the latest improved sketches on SNL and alike. Note for example at 16:00 the 40 secs of Carter's smile. That might have been funny years ago watching a variety show on tv but not anymore. And that song "poke alot of fun at Washington..." for him to sing like that in these modern times would be like a black guy getting up to sing 'Mammy' and tap dance.

This was so embarrassing for Rich Little. Horrible, old fogeyist performance. He did a tremendous disservice to all the older comedians who do actually do a good job (like Don Rickles).
I think it takes EXTRA-ordinary courage for a comedian to continue his act with such grace and confidence even though the material just wasn't that funny...and you can visibly see the boredom and bewilderment in the audience.
Most of the media noobs in attendance didn't know who half the people who were impersonated. And these are the so-called 'lights' of information? God help us.
That was terrific. Hands down the best Jimmy Carter impression I've ever seen. (The worst Bill Clinton though). I got a lot of good belly laughs on it.
rich little re-invented modern impressioning close to 40 years ago and should be applauded. that said, this performance was an embarassment and he should go back and re-visit his material selection and what is appropriate in venues as this.
God bless you Rich. The President Reagan impression was absolutely the best. I can't stop watching that segment. You were 99% him. Andy Roony was also great. You didn't do too well with W. Bush though. And what is the matter with this audience? They seem not to get any of the jokes or remember some of these past presidents. Some too young perhaps or with short memory, or something in their food these lame people with no sense of humor.

Maybe that seemed a bit Harsh, most of his impressions were good. Oh but these people must have no sense of humor, they didn't laugh at some of the funniest parts, Out Standing in a field, that was quite funny no one laughed.

You could make the argument that the crowd wasn't too responsive to him, but this kind of comedy is so long gone, This is due to the latest improved sketches on SNL and alike. Note for example at 16:00 the 40 secs of Carter's smile. That might have been funny years ago watching a variety show on tv but not anymore. And that song "poke alot of fun at Washington..." for him to sing like that in these modern times would be like a black guy getting up to sing 'Mammy' and tap dance.

Wow, this guy is completely disconnected from his audience and this decade. His jokes have no political reference...you're at the WHCD for god sakes...no body wants to hear about hunters tracking moose in Canada, wtf. God bless you Rich. The President Reagan impression was absolutely the best. I can't stop watching that segment. You were 99% him. Andy Roony was also great. You didn't do too well with W. Bush though. And what is the matter with this audience? They seem not to get any of the jokes or remember some of these past presidents. Some too young perhaps or with short memory, or something in their food these lame people with no sense of humor.
