  • LOL @ fat out of shape gun nerds dressing up in camo pretending to be in the military. Nothing is more pathetic.

  • i want the sub2k but they didn't have the glock one at the store.

  • Tks TNP. I use to not mind the weight of firearms[25 yrs ago], but medical stuff now requires that I use the lightest that I can find. I can handle the recoil, not the #. Looks like I will save some $ for a Kel-Tec.

  • But can it be duracoated?

  • well ofcourse a PC is going to be easier to connect with than a pistol. Is there really a single viewer out there that might take issue with what seems like an obvious statement?

  • Sorry for all the posts..hhahah love your videos.. So got a few questions about the kel tec sub 2000.. I think you said it can take glock magazines? Is that true? Do you have to modify the gun to be able to take glock mags? If it does thats a really big plus because I have a bunch of glock magazines...also how much does the kel tec 2000 usually cost?

  • @timmy101able I'll try to answer off the top of my head, The Sub2k will accept magazines based on it's model, no gunsmithing required, off the top of my head the Sub2k costs somewhere north of 450$ (website was compromised....gotta get your IT guys on it Kel tec!).

  • @timmy101able I'll have to get back to you on the other questions....the ballistics one is kinda complicated...and I don't know on pricing and the high-capacity on hi-points

  • Arent .223 rounds just barely more expensive than are 9mm rounds? 100 box of 9mm federals is about $20 vs 20 box of .223 for $6.50ish x 5 is about $32.. well I guess there is a decent difference in price, but if you go to .40 or .45 carbines the price difference is minimal??

  • Are larger capacity mags available for the high point carbines??

  • I was kinda thinking about getting one of these little high point carbines, probably in .45... but I just realized something.. .45 ammo is actually more expensive than AR15 ammo? Is it worth it? I know one of these is about $400 in my area and a simple M&P15 AR rifle is about $700ish.. The AR is slightly more expensive but cheaper to shoot and you can get large mags and just about any accessory for it.... is it worth it? What is the stronger round? .45 out of a long barrel or the .223?

  • Hi Nutn, I always thought that the factory stock on the Hi point 9mm carbine was awkward, and I just didn't like it so i bought a replacement stock from ATI which makes it look like a berretta storm. I had to do a little modification to the stock with the mag well because it was catching on the the lip of the magazine, but then everything was great. I now love my hi point and it's new stock. It feels good when i put it into my shoulder and fire it. Thanks, a loyal TNPr

  • Love your reviews, man, I wish I lived where you did so I could train out in the open all the time....

  • This video suffers from a syndrome that is growing in YouTube--I call it the Feature Film Wannabe Syndrome. Music soundtracks, endless fast cuts to barely relevant footage, TV commercial style, repetition of the same kind of material. This video has 15 minutes of useful material, but it takes 40 minutes. IMO, most people to go to YouTube are looking for information in a short time. There is some info here, but you have to endure four minutes of useless music video to get to it. One opinion.

  • Hey Nutnfancy, I have been watching your vids for about a year now and I think I have seen them all. But upon watching this vid again I can only think to ask: What about an AR Pistol? You refer to "A tactical carbine of a major caliber" and show the SU series KelTec and I immediatly think AR Pistol due to the SU-16C model is an "Underfolder" of sorts. Im not trying to down the PCC more like wanting to know your view on the "Pistol" setup.

    -41-

  • Thoughts on the Thureon Defense 9mm compared to other pcs.

  • Home defense: one word: Shotgun

  • Really ENJOY your videos NutnFancy! Who's the artist singing in this video?

  • Wonder when they will get around to a .45acp chambering for the sub2000. That would be interesting.

  • they still look retarded though

  • if only the sub2k were a bullpup...

  • the music...why god, must he add music?!?!

  • we need a 50ae or 500 s&w pistol carbine

  • @codybrady100 Tromix makes, or at least used to make a .50ae upper receiver for AR's. You should also look into .50 beowulf and .458 socom

  • @codybrady100 .500 S&W is 12.7x41mm while .50 Beowulf is 12.7x42mm. If your considering this you might as well just shoot slugs out of your 12 gauge for similar ballistics and not spend all the money for the upper and expensive ammo.

  • I hope you have time to go back and revisit this subject this year. Would be nice to see a rational comparison of an AR upper in 9mm vs. Kel Tec Sub 2000 in 9mm, vs. Just Right Carbine in 9mm, and last but certainly not lease a Thureon Defense Carbine in 9mm. The ones I've heard about most are the Kel- Tec from you and the Thureon...Want something along these lines for the Left handed females in my life.

  • 1:35 mom jeans.

  • Hey Nut, appreciate your openness to development and change in your thinking. PCCs are fun to shoot and in a lot of ways better for home defense than a rifle that will put rounds through your walls and maybe take out the neighbors.

  • Something you didn't cover...

    PC or Mac?

  • Keltec Sub-200 for cool features and size or High-Point for lifetime warranty?

  • Great video! Several years ago I worked with a dude that uses a Hi Point 995 for deer hunting...WHAT?... He owns bolt and lever guns in appropriate calibers but he chooses his PCC. I confronted him about it and he told me to check the ballistic data of a 125gr +P Golden Sabre from a 16" barrel. The SUB-2000 is of my favorites. Mine is amazing (after I got rid of the plastic front sight base, replaced with a Blue Force). I have set it up so that I am comfortable in a variety of situations!

  • I recently purchased a MechTech Glock 40 CCU. I ordered the M4 stock and full top monorail. For an optic I followed your suggestion with the Vortex Strikefire red/green dot.

A super fun carbine for a recreational firearm. Sure it has limitations but I was whacking a 55 gallon drum at 323 yards last weekend so 100 yards is no challenge at all. The CCU won't replace my M1A for a serious rifle but it is fun and cheaper to shoot.

  • Hey Veri, where is it that Nutnfancy gets the songs for his videos? Heard some great ones on this channel, so just wondering. Thanks!

  • @XtremeConditioning Music: "Takin Yo Time ( The Wingman Mix )" by Loveshadow (feat. Brad Sucks and Audiotechnica), google it and see ccmixter org

  • @foldvariek The plates are rated to specific weights, and specific speeds. you would have to see if the bullet you were launching surpassed those specs.

  • @nutnfancy have you shot or seen a Mech Tech PC? I was curious on what you thought about them if you have.

  • @foldvariek That seems like a stupid question, no? How would a carbine that is pistol caliber be effective against a plate (or soft armor) designed to stop pistol calibers?

  • this vid helped change my mind about "PC's". Sure, an AK or AR is more capible in the grand scheme of things but they also dont weigh 4lbs and fold up as small as the KT Sub2k. I would never spend $1500 on a PC that weighs 8lbs...luckly our choices are not limited to that weight and price range.

  • @DjEndurancE that's a hi point 995

  • What gun is that at 38:16?

I noticed it's left-handed charging handle with right side ejection.

  • @DjEndurancE It's a Hi point

  • @DjEndurancE Hi Point carbine

  • Good point about the holing up in one room during a home invasion. However, I have four children, three of whom have bedrooms on a different floor than mine. My first action will be to go and protect my children. In that situation I think the handgun is the more practical option.

  • @mld630

Probably, lower velocity means less wall penetration and smaller/lighter frees your other hand to open doors, grab kids etc. Also the kids should know if they hear gunshots, glass break or something they should get in their closet on the floor this way you know about where they are behind the walls.

  • Have you reviewed the Beretta CX4 Storm yet?

  • @calebargh PX4 you mean?

  • @TheJaaysog The CX4 is the carbine vesion.

  • in home defense situation you didnt mention easier follow up shots w/ the carbine, less felt recoil means quicker shots

  • In Indiana, you can't hunt deer with standard rifle cartridges, only pistol-sized cartridges. +1 PCC

  • POU: Arming child soldiers

  • i hvae a question is there a websight or a glub that talks about gun ideas?

  • If anyone can point me to some studies of 9mm pistol caliber carbines being compared to rifles in .223/5.56 or 7.62 on ballistic gel I would be very appreciative. I'm considering either a 9mm PCC or frankenrifle .223 or WASR for shtf/defense use. Does anyone have studies or figures that would help me make a decision? Thanks ahead of time.

  • @TheRobbyBear there is no comparison a 9mm will be a 9mm even in a carbine. its a pistol caliber and cannot replicate .223 ballistics or gel test. thats not necessarily a bad thing, easier to control and within pistol distances deadly.

  • @2ndadmendmutt Thanks for the reply but I wasn't looking to replicate .223 results with a 9mm from a carbine. I just want to compare the two. More specifically in closer distances like in a home or self defense situation. For many people a 9mm carbine is a better option than a battle rifle.

  • @TheRobbyBear well as i said at pistol distances 9mm would be fine i think, i cant imagine anyone bitching because you shot them with only a 9mm lol :P

  • You didn't mention anything about muzzle blast.... .223 or other rifle rounds will have much more muzzle blast, which can be distracting/painful to you/teammates next to you, especially out of a shorter barrel and/or with a recoil compensator. The noise of the muzzle blast can also be too much when fired indoors from a shorter barrel. Many women/children can't stand the .223 because of its muzzle blast, and you should have mentioned it. Otherwise, GREAT video.

  • One major reason I'm considering a PC for home defense is the noise factor. Firing a 9 mm versus a 12 guage indoors without time to put on hearing protection (not even available for my dogs) has obvious implications. Thanks for the great video!

  • @daveblandston6 Given the situation in which you'd fire 12 ga inside your home, I think the minor hearing damage from a few rounds (at most) is a reasonable tradeoff. My own home defense choice is a .357 Magnum revolver with high velocity, light/fragile bullet loads, and they won't spare anyone's hearing -- but the bullets will fragment on wall board, so if I have to shoot, I won't kill someone a block away. For this reason alone, a shotgun is a better choice than a carbine.

  • Referencing nutn talking about the superior obstacle-defeating capabilities of the carbine: I was under the impression that with certain carbines (namely rifles chambered in 5.56/.223, that pistol-caliber rounds actually have *better* chances of punching through urban cover.

Perhaps not the case with 7.62mm rounds, but I remember reading that the FBI once did a study and recommended that if cops go up against a suspect behind cover, they should transition from to pistols to "dig him out".

  • @JasonRedfield There are way too many variables to give it that wide of a catch all "pistols are better at barriers" statement.

  • @Kylef7735

Fair enough, but it should be addressed. If the FBI found it worthy of commenting on, then it's probably enough of a concern to be noted.

  • @JasonRedfield Need to do some testing!

  • @Kylef7735

Agreed. I'd love to do it if I had the resources, but alas I do not.

  • @JasonRedfield We are too poor! LOL

  • @Kylef7735

    Got that right ;-)

  • How would you rate the PC vs the tactical 22's? I would love to hear you do a comparison between the PC's and the 22 tacticals. thanks

  • Hey Nutn, how about doing a review of the M1 Carbine for your PCC series of vids..?

  • It's so awesome that you're doing all these reviews. You should definitely come out with a book about survival/defense etc. - Put your mentality/ideas etc into a book for us to buy and read

  • You want to see a really impressive PC? Try reviewing a PPSH or the Polish version chambered for 7.62x25. I guarantee you'll have fun with it. ;)

  • @Dstroyr I doubt he will like it, unergonomic, heavy, limited ammunition availability.

  • Does this man look sane?

  • @MrPoetPoetPoet yep. looks sane to me.

  • @MrPoetPoetPoet your a troll seen you troll on a few of his vids, of course he's sane, how is he not?

  • You should consider getting a wide angle lens for the table top bits

  • You can buy a saiga now for 300 bucks + tax and fees. So I don't think I'd ever get a pistol caliber carbine.

  • @mustangx218 If you are referring to a Saiga AK47 then you sir, are wrong. AK prices have shot up recently as they commonly do. AK prices are about asstableas the stock market, dealers never really know from one eek to the next whether or not they will be able to buy any. I am friends with multiple gun dealers and they tellme about how tough it i to stay i the market valuesince it changes so, so often.

  • Song sounds much like "making me nervous", then I read the description and realized it was the same band, go figure. I remembered this over a month ago when I watched it the first time, not bad. Great video!

  • Im really starting to lean towards a Pistol Caliber carbine for home defense. I have a tricked out 590A1 but the Sub 2000 seems a lot easier to move around corners with. Especially when just securing the house after the misses swears she heard someone in the house again on a late night.

  • Are you shooting in New Mexico?

  • @ToddB987 Utah

  • Been a long time since I've seen nutnfancy's bare hands...

  • What is Nutnfancy's first name?

  • @philsense Nutn.

He prefers (for god reasons) to be unnamed.

  • @goatmurray Makes sense, just wondering if he ever mentioned it any of his vids.

  • What about the pistol carbines chambered for something with a lot more bite, 10mm, .357 Sig, 9x25 Dillon and 460 Rowland. I think a "PC" chambering those changes a lot of your talk points! You should check out a Featherlight carbine. I think you have a even greater change of heart over this platforms! BTW NF good vid I enjoyed

  • An H&K USC .45acp should be in the mix. Wouldn't trade in my AR15 as a WROL system for a USC but I still want one.

  • Forgive me if I am being an idiot. What is the difference between a PC and an SMG, especially the facsimiles?

If I am not mistaken SMGs e.g. the MP5 run pistol rounds such as the 9mm Parabellum so would the only difference be their automatic or burst fire capability?

    Thank you :)

  • Hy you forgot the ruger pc 4 or pc 40 cal!

  • 5.7x28. in a PC. BADASSS

  • what gun is that he keeps bring in to frame

  • @darkcuda1 If you mean the cammo duracoat one it s a Kel-Tek SU-16, the pistol is a Glock G34, the black rifle with scope is a Mini-14

  • @darkcuda1 It's a variation of a Kel Tec SUB-2000 with quad rails. Available in 9mm Luger and .40 S&W

  • i have a Remington 223 deer gun so i know the cost of 223's

  • Too bad you left out the Thueron Defense 9mm PC. Excellent engineering. Excellent weapon. Extremely accurate too.

  • Last check, the 223/556 costs less than the 45acp. Not a critique, just a statement.

  • Nutn' on ATACS camo........your thoughts?

  • @DuckDitch I use it for hunting... GREAT option...

  • What optic is nutn' runnin on that Kel Tec?

  • @DuckDitch Vortex Strikefire red dot.

  • Basically PC's where designed mostly for CQB/CQC. So IMHO it depends if you expect to be the distances for engagement to be more that 50yards or not. I'm more or less inclined to say PC's are all-round for around the home.

  • name of the song in the intro?

  • @woahcoolwaffles121 "Takin Yo Time ( The Wingman Mix )" by Loveshadow (feat. Brad Sucks and Audiotechnica) nutn 9/10 times puts the name of the tune in the description box

  • @TheDishD thanks

  • @woahcoolwaffles121 No prob's mate here to help =]

  • I have a sub2k and love it. It is void of optics but hey, I can make cans jump at 75'+ with open sites who cares. The weapon preforms flawlessly and I really like the inter changable mag feature. When buying one of these, specify if you want Glock or S&W mags as that makes a difference and will enhance your personal choice in sidearm!

BTW, there is an optic mount for this weapon that moves over allowing for the Sub2k to be able to fold! Haven't read any reviews on that though.

  • So far your video is the best

  • hey nutn. you should test the roni system by caa. i think it would a great comparison to the other pistol carbines.

  • I like the Beretta. Cool looking and fun to shoot

  • Thanks for the video Nutn.

  • @SSgt24thMEU Yeah I have learned that lesson. I picked up my Highpoint about 9 years ago. Its pretty much a paperweight. I just purchased another RRA LAR rifle, the Tactical operator 2 and it is flawless so far. My a4 has been as well. Thank you for your feedback .

  • Great discussion Nutn, thanks.

  • My Hipoint was a waste 0f $220 dollars. The thing jams every other round....

  • @ar15srock What are you using? I've got over 1000 rounds through my 995, and I've NEVER had a single jam. However, I loaned it to a curious co-worker to try, and while using Remington UMC (an ammo I've never bought) he said it was constantly jamming up. I sold him a few boxes of steel cased Tula (the cheapest ammo I've come across) and he tried it again without a single hiccup. Tip: keep your feed ramp clean and lubed, and try a few different kinds of ammo. You'll find something it likes.

  • @Fluffy65 Winchester 115gr FMJ. Thank you for the advise. I have not tried running other loads through it even though I have had it so long. When I picked up my 995 I was still running Mini-14's a lot and at the time I thought that the hipoints performance was lacking. Since '05 its been in the gun cabinet. Maybe ill give it a 2nd chance.

  • hey nutn enjoy your vids! Long time watcher first time to comment. I was wondering if you could do a review on the duracoating that you do and show us how to do it as well. I think that would be real cool if you could find the time as im interested in duracoating my gear. Thanks

  • @borngunman Go to Nutn' channel page and look in his playlists, your find a cple of vids on his duracoating process esp on a ruger 10/22, hope that helps

  • Nutn, I think the FN 5.7x28 rounds is a contender in this catagory. Considering the weight of the rounds, you can carry considerably more of these than other popular sub gun calibers. Only negative I see is the cost is higher but its up to each individual to consider what their life is worth. Your thoughts on the 5.7x28 please.

  • I like the breath of fresh air being blown into the PC's direction. I've looked at a few of these at my local gun shop, but could never really get enough solid reliable data to "pull the trigger" and purchase one. Interesting points and with several different POU's in mind, well worth the price of admission.

    Thanks again Nutn!

  • There are several times when you shoot a .556 at steel inside 25 yards. Do you shoot frangible ammo or just risk cratering your steel? Great video by the way and the next pistol carbine you should test is the Kriss Super V.

  • Great intro!

  • do pistol carbines have the 16" barrel restriction?

  • You made some good points. I think it was a tough video to do well but you did it. Thanks as always!

  • Hey Nutnfancy

I have been watching you P2000 Video, I like Pistol caliper carbines. The P2000 may fold smaller the a Rifle caliper carbine with a collapsing or folding stock. But I can still fire an AR AK or Mini-14 with a collapsing or folding stock. To me that's more important than the P2000 collapses smaller.

I have a Marlin Camp-9 I would like to see a side folding stock for it.

Just my 2 cents. Great video keep up the good work.

    Joe-R

  • Nutn, this is a Fantastic video. The POU and thought you have put into this video is turly amazing. Keep up the awesome work! Oh, I really dig the color on your Glock 34.

  • Hey Nutn', I believe you missed a pretty big medium between the Pistol & the Pistol Carbine. The PWD, namely the FNH FiveseveN & P90 which both use the intermediate cartridge the 5.7×28mm which is a small, light weight, high-velocity caliber with MANY different loadings from FN including a 32 grain load #SS190-AP which is Armor Piercing. With an effective range of 200m & a maximum range of 1,800m when fired from the FNH P90. I Believe this combination beats out the PC with Ammo, SAWC & POU.

  • Hey Nutnfancy, I think we have proof-of-concept that your TNP POU's are the key to remaining "Non-brand myopic" when it comes to different weapons & gear-based systems. That is, you are able to take your viewers through an entirely different & much more expansive field of knowledge/experience, thereby evolving the viewership in the process. It's a much more effective process, especially on new media like youtube (e.g. that's why I think TNP stands out above other kinds of reviewing vids).

  • my main idea behind a PC for a HD gun is that A)recoil is lighter with the extra weight up front, and B) a PC offers a buttstock, which will be much more stable when shooting one handed. which would be important in situations for people with kids/wife, I understand that more than likely one hand will be either holding a baby or holding back my older daughter, while a pistol could be used just the same, I feel like the buttstock could allow for a greater control for safer fire.

  • I use a pistol not a "PC" in my room when encountering a dangerous situation.

  • very informative, well-formed video. wish i could chill with you guys

  • can i have the spent cartridges? my reasons are my own. nothing illegal though.

  • idea for a new Nutnfancy video"Home Defense: Pump Shotgun vs Pistol Carbine"

  • @bubbabeau07 or pistol

  • I going to buy a gun. Kinda like a project gun something that I want to outfit to make a "tactical" gun. for the money what would be better Remington 870, RIA 1911, or Sub2000

  • 28:30 hey, hold on nutn' there have been tests of the 9mm vs. a 5.56 going through multiple layers of drywall and the 9mm actually maintains its ballistics through more layers of drywall where the 5.56 will start to keyhole and drop sooner. The test really surprised me, just figured you would want to know.

  • Seems like the PC mainly offers an alternative to a shotgun for a bunch of POUs. Home defense, damage out to 50-100 yards, etc. Definitely have more rounds for PC, but a shotgun would leave a heck of a bigger hole with either shot or slug. Price range is about the same if you get a pump - just ammo for the shotgun is more expensive. Random thought I figured I'd share.

  • Have you ever tried the Mechtech system that the uses a 1911 or Glock 22 lower placed on a Mechtech upper. Seems like a smart idea. Just curious on how that system would compare in price and quality.

  • Love his sound effects! LOL

  • Every time you say "AT-94", I hear "1894" and begin wishing to see pistol caliber lever action carbines used in one of your drills.

  • ...next up, I'd love to see "Rifle-chambered pistol" Please?

  • Home Defense POU: Pistol allows for 1 handed operation, offering your off-hand for PPD/Cell Phone operation/etc. Edge-Pistol.

  • im 18 can i buy one of these

  • @forgiveusmen where do u live? i think it depends on country

  • @forgiveusmen It depends on your state. As an 18yo in Texas you can legally own a rifle, shot gun, or pistol. The problem is that an FFL dealer can not sell you pistols or pistol ammunition if they know it is being used in a pistol. Some FFL dealers will sell you pistol ammo if they know its being used in a rifle/carbine/etc. Check your state laws, NRA-ILA has good articles on it.

  • What is the device on the back of your Glock 34 slide?

  • Great video man but I have a question what type of jacket is that brown colored one that I see you wearing a lot aside from your multicam and that other colored uniform that I see you wearing in this video, not sure what it is but it looks like A-TACS. Thanks Nutnfancy! or anyone who can answer this.

  • @atruepatriot92 its a Tactical Soft Shell Jacket made by Condor, PFIDudes store carries it, firearmsprostore(dot)com, hope that helps

  • @TheDishD Thanks for the answer, I thought it was but I wasn't sure, I just couldn't get over how nice it looked. I just ordered one in foliage green.

  • @atruepatriot92 Noprob's bro, here to help =]yep sure is a nice bit of kit, the foliage green is a good choice, best wishes and take care

  • Dude im done subribing

  • how do these carbines compare in range to the pistols firing the same cartridge? like 9mm from a glock compared with a carbine? thanks :)

  • @dasmonkeyman 50 meters or less the round has the same force as a .357 mag. 200 meters the round has the same force as a .380 auto. The sub2000 manual has a chart in it that you can download at Keltecs site. I can tell you that 147 grain JHP is awesome with a 30 round Glock mag and you can be very accurate with the irons at 30 meters. I am much faster and more accurate with a sub2000 than with a pistol.

  • nice.. i think i can actually have that legally here in Slovenia. thnx for the vid :)

  • I love the Beretta Cx4, even though it was over-priced IMO. Very light. Also, the space btw rear & front sights don't allow for a scope, only a red dot. Mine takes 92 mags like my Brigadier pistol.

  • @Deep13Deep13Deep13 I bought a secondhand CX-4 that had a scope mounted on a picatinny up top. It was a not a high end scope, but did a pretty good job of bringing the target much closer. No proper shakedown yet, but the recoil is gentle and it cycled without a hitch for 200 rnds using Federal .40. I want to do a direct comparison between this pair and a Kel Tec/SW M&P chambered in the same calibre. Wait... it takes 92 mags too???!!!

  • @SouperAsH Mine is in 9mm and takes 92 mags. Some of them take Px4 mags. I imagine some of the .40s take 96 mags, but I don't really know.

  • When you were saying 1894, at first I thought you meant a Marlin 1894 in .357 or .44 mag. Also a fun PCC, if a bit heavy. I have the .357 version and it is accurate to about 100 yes w/ scope. .357 gains a good amount of velocity in a carbine vs. revolver.

  • what remix of "making me nervous" is this?

  • i want that digital camo kel-tel. looks so awesome. as always thanks for posting!

  • @mynameisTROLLx - the people who kill in this country are rarely legal gun holders, and tend to be some wanna-be badass gang members that get their guns from illegal gun trafficking, which is proven impossible to stop. I would not doubt an invasion on our country one day, and at that point what would American Citizens do to defend themselves? Throw butter knives?

  • I love the landscape they shoot around, perfect place to enjoy a nice fall day shooting guns

  • @seventhSabra I'm not arguing about your point on home defense on the contrary I agree with you a pump shotgun is ideal you don't even have to fire it all you have to do is chamber a shell and send then running but I'm saying the phrasing and constantly repeating that your smarter than everyone else is definitely not the way to go about it its a good way to make no one take you seriously
