I'd say it depends what video card you have.. 256MB is just the memory.. I have the ATI mobility Radeon 4570 256MB(which has the edge over 8600M GT) and a better processor than yours.. AND STILL I can't play at the max settings(except AA) without the fps dropping to 20 in intense firefights which bothers the crap out of me.

I have a maxed out M1530. If you put everything on high in COD4 and use the highest resolution, the graphics is a little choppy.

AFaraz10 if you want better gaming 7200rpm is much much better than the 5400rpm drive even with only 160gb

the GT is much better than the GS its almost comparable to a 8600m gs so i think it will be fine to run on low-mid and a low res

Try running Crysis in DX9 mode. In the games menu, right click and select run DX9. If you see a performance increase, let me know. Also, what are the specs on your laptop?

dell doesnt offer anything higher on the xps m1330 and m1530 systems just the m1730. the m1730 has dual nvidia 8800gtx cards ( runs ya about 2-3k more than the rest tho).

It's a 13.3" lappy... Maybe if you ask Dell real nicely they'll cram a top of the line card into the small beast and you can watch it melt the moment you boot it up.

Vram doesn't play that huge of a role settings depending on the speed of the video card but the geforce 8400M Gs can definitely handle cod 4 from low to mid settings with decent playable fps count.

My dell 2400 can handle this game at mid settings with an avarage rate of 22-40 fps.

1gb ram, ati radeon had 2400 256mb, and intel p4 2.6gh/ 800mhz fsb, win xp.

In the other hand my vostro gets around 25-50 fps with a geforce 128mb 8400M GS, Intel duo 1.6 gh processor, (overclocked to 1.8),2gb ram.

StephenFarrelly: Oh yeaaa i noticed rigth away run very fast with xp i have to say that the performance its much better with xp, everything faster!!! All the drivers that you need for xp are in the dell website and all the help for install xp in your m1330 is in the forums of dell . Good Luck! :D
