Just depends on where you live and what you do with your truck, I guess. I have a toyota pickup with over 500,000 miles on it, and all I've had to replace was the clutch. I'm sure vehicles of all types have rare, crazy problems.
it has alot to do with where you live. Alot of snow means salt and shit which ruins you cars. however i do agree that toyotas trucks in general do have a problem. but i have an old tercel with zero rust, i abuse it all winter long and as far as im concerned is good as new.
when ever i am feeling down ..i just put this video on and it makes me laugh each and every time.....and as i watch this i am so glad i buy ford trucks

Funny, I've had 5 Toyota trucks including 3 Tacomas and they have collectively amassed over a million miles. Never had one rust problem. On the flipside, my buddy bought a brand new F150 in December od 2010 and returned it to the dealer a week after he bought it because the frame already had corrosion blisters all over it.
@cashmab Funny, my 30 year old F-150's frame is still rock solid, and it has never been kept in a garage. I don't even bother washing it either. I have used it for concrete work, ranch work, hauling firewood, and 4 wheeling all over the Rocky Mountains. It has never needed any major work, and is all stock except for a small lift kit, and 35" tires. Oh, I did have to replace the steering box after crashing it in a canyon, but I was still able to drive it home.
@cashmab show me a video of an american truck rusted in half? i believe what i see, and the many pictures and videos i see of this do not lie. i also do not believe what i hear from toyota fans. 5 trucks for a million miles is only 200k a piece, your bragging over that? i buy my american vehicle used with well over 250k, and drive them 200k more. i havnt gone through 5 trucks in my life, and i unlike you use them for real work. your in denial of the growing evidence against toyota quality.
@galdino429 Good point. I have never seen any trucks break in half foreign or domestic, except for Toyota trucks. Toyota has always been good at keeping their defective vehicles quiet from the news media, and they advertise all over the internet to fool people. Now the facts are beginning to surface, but I am sure that they will just counteract it with more internet spamming, and more deceptive advertising.
Maybe a guy could go into business buying Toyota trucks, and when they break in half, he can sell them back to Toyota for 150% of their value. Damn, it's amazing that I'm not rich yet with all these great ideas!
@furiousgeorge1271 The Toyota corporation has always had a policy of buying back defective Toyotas in order to hide their problems from the public. So when Toyota trucks started breaking in half, the Toyota corporation started buying them back because it was cheaper than issuing a recall, and having the news learn about their defects, because if the news found out, everyone in America would learn about the defect, and it would hurt their sales. But with regard to my comment, I was only kidding.
no matter how bad i can feel about anything ....or if i am in bad mood..i just look at this video and it cheer's me right up ......i am so glad i drive ford ..screw toyota
Another example of these "tough Toyota trucks" that their commercials keep talking about. My friend has a 98 Tacoma just like that one, and the bed rusted all the way through a few years ago, and the rear suspension broke.
at least toyota stands behind there vehicles when something goes wrong, you know if yer truck failed you got 150% of what the blue book value of the truck is in perfect condition? id sure like to see ford or chevy do this. . and it wasnt all of them it was only ones that dint get primered right they fixed the machine

@1997FordProbeGT damn!! next time I see 1 on the road, imma pull of to the nearest side street, I live in the south, but we still got the beach near by .. jfc... o.O
my buddies f-150 has 120,000 mi and all of them hauling wood mulch and tractors over the bumpy winter raviged roads out here its a 99 the frame is fine and for that matter theres olny a exaust gas recurlation problem (sorta common on the 4.6) that we will fix and easily (thx internet) and we sorta broke the tail light lol
wow my friend works at the junk yard I asked him if I should get a Toyota he told me I would be a good Idea If I wanted to die in a fiery death trap. So I got a Buick La saber instead now I'm so happy I asked him 3 years ago.
it goes alot further than just coating. have you ever seen an american car rust out this bad? this truck is probably only a few years old. this is poor material use. shitty metal, paper thin. toyota quality is a myth
@anthonyledo no? they only recalled the 95 - 2000? and every american car iv seen has rusted like hell the brake lines are always rustin iv got a 95 tacoma only thing iv ever done is change the oil every 3000 miles its got 300000 miles and it runs as good as new
NO!!!! later on they needed to recall 2000-2004. those owners are covered aswell thanks to nhtsa. there are already reports of tundras and tacomas as new as 2007 rusting in half. you can read about them at consumeraffairs. this shows your lack of knowledge. american cars 40 years old are still in one piece. your talking shit you can not back up. your are blind loyal to toyota.
@anthonyledo and what about the new American vehicles? there shit
yes the older ones were great i admit but they got lazy and that in the video? that was like a 95 i really dout somone would let there vehicle go that long without having something done im sure this is after they beat threw the frame
im guessing youve had a few rebuilds, as those are known for oil sludge, aswell as blowing head gaskets. problems that occur as early as 30k and usually before 80k.
american vehicles have million mile records without rebuilds. please show me just 1 million mile toyota with out rebuilds...
you fail. you have not sent me one record of a million mile toyota. please send me a working link or you fail. i will say again. the big three each have many.
I Got a 96 taco. Is there anything i can do to it so it can fail. i see alot of corrosion near the left front frame bar. it looks like its gonna make a Hole in there soon. Should I bang t with a hammer?
