I started in 1985. I still have my old Cab Mini hanging on my wall. The decks back then weren't as versatile as they became in the 90's. Shit blew up in the 90's. They put twin kicktails or spoon-noses, they called them, on the decks. Guys started doing ollies over trash cans with those. Decks were still 10 inches wide in 1990. Rail guards got uncool, riser pads got small, by 95 wheels went from 66mm down to 39mm. The dream was always to keep moving and not have to stop. I think we got there.

For the record: skating in the early '90s was EXTREMELY scenist (if that's a word) - i.e. all about this and that clique and who you were down with. Skateboarding itself was as fun as you made it, but anyone claiming there was less posing and shit going on then compared to now, is not telling the whole truth. That's alright, it's normal to get sentimental when you hit that three zero mark in life.

But yea, as far as tricks, style and skate-girls go - the 90s were da BOMB
