Nice, I bought the G airport express about a month before they were updated. My main router is N. All of are G laptops use the airport express, and for my macbook pro I use the N router. That way my network is not slowed down when my brother and dad are on the network.
I have the 802.11n. I use it as an extender; my primary router is a time capsule :-). I lucked out on the timing of purchasing the express, it was like 2 weeks after it came out updated!
Apple TV's are useless.

It should work with any Mac, although you may need to change a setting in the security panel if it doesn't under the pairing options.
