The bomb DOES work on link's last target-you have to smash the stick (like you're doing a normal smash attack) to have him throw it really hard upwards. so instead of smashing up and hitting A for smash A, you'd smash throw.

to get to the target underneath the platform, the best way to do this is to press down. and to flip backwards you just nees to jump at the opposite direction your character is looking
