  • Yeah, that's a K5HL. Not a M5.

  • no M5... K5HLl

  • @lukasfols1 Either way it was loud as hell man. How can you tell it's a K5 series anyway? Sounded like an M5 to me. K5 series are much higher pitched. I have lots of videos of k5HLA's on my channel, & none of them sound anywhere like this. UP6936 (DDA40X) has an M5 on it, & it sounds exactly like the one in this video, & that's what I titled it as an M5 horn. I couldn't tell on the loco in this video because it was whippin' by so friggin' fast, & didn't have a chance to look at it closely. LOL

  • @GP9railfan Yeah i hear this same horn by my house sometimes and it sounds almost like a Leslie RS3K. You just have to know a ton about train horns and you will be able to know what is what. The new K5LLA's sound even closer to the older M5's and Old Cast P5's...

  • Thats no M5 horn, that be a K5HLL lol.

  • Nice! I caught a six unit Union Pacific light power move in Emeryville just recently.

  • @CaliforniaRailfan101 Yeah, I know. You did a great job catching all the old school power on that one too!

  • Cool video!!! 7 units unimpeded by freight cars. Now imagine if they ran that all the way up to 8th notch, on the throttle.

  • @ChicagoRailMan Thanks! Yep, all 3 different paint schemes on that run-by too! That would sound, & look pretty darn cool if they did bump it up to 8 before the crossing. They'd really be bookin' it too!

  • sweet, my favorite rail road!!!

  • Yeah, BNSF is one of my favorites also.

  • i love the bnsf and csx. loved the horn.

  • Thanks. Me too.

  • Very nice footage :)

    Enjoyed it !

    Thank you for posting !

  • Thanks! Glad you liked it. You're welcome. Z.

  • Oh yeah! Diesel Power!!

  • Yep. The sound was really cool. Too bad the camera didn't quite capture the rumble though.

  • Engineer saying to the conductor.. Damn it I knew we forgot something when we left the station.. ya the "CARS"

  • lmfao!!!

    hahaha

  • Nice catch. Quite a change from sleepy Maine railroading, eh? ;-)

  • Yep, it certainly is!!

. Moving to California at a new job for a couple years. I'll have tons of UP videos here soon, from my stop in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Wyoming is train central. I've never seen so many trains before!

  • pretty amazing how the midwestern and western states have more trains in an hour than Maine has in a day. good luck at your new job!

  • Yep. I'm slightly overwhelmed/overdosed on trains right now. LOL. I saw the Big Boy #4004 today, & got pics , & video. You don't realize how "big" they really are until you see one in person. 1.2 million Lbs, & over 130' long!

  • Wait, you're movin' to Californ-i-a? You're living my life man, you're living my life. Trust, me I went St.Louis over Spring break, I was overlwhelmed, heck I even got to see a pair of C44-9Ws in Warbonnet paint! So, the farther west you go, the more suprises! Brandon

  • O man! We where close to each other today! Thought I would check out some BNSF, so I brought my son down to the south side. We where railfanning a few miles to the north east of there. Didn't take any video tho.

  • Really? LOL. I was at the Rt 6 crossing for about an hour just hoping something would go through, because I heard trains on that track all the night before, & almost all of the that next morning, (until I showed up there). LOL. When I arrived there, only this power move came through... at least i got something out of it though. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Yea, It was dead today, I was wanting to see something, so we ran up to the BNSF intermodal yard, No movement at all, as we where leaving there was one freight that came in. We did stumble across some land that ATSF turned into preserve and had a caboose that you could go in, That was cool.

  • Cool man

  • Thanks.

  • interesting.. I got YN1 GP15T 1521 sitting out here.. BTW: the YN1 GP15T shown is 1 of 3

  • nice catch!

  • Thanks! I wasn't expecting that either. LOL

  • I notice a YN1 GP15T in the BG at 1:47, what was the number?

  • 1500, & 1504.
