  • what is the all up weight with battery? sorry if you stated it before.

  • I watched a couple of videos of Dogfighter and I am becoming really fascinated with it. I just started into RC Flying and if I build one, this would be my first kit. I would appreciate if you could describe your setup in detail. What exact motor, ESC, battery, servos, type of linkages etc? Will the Dogfighter powerpack as sold by towerhobbies work? Is that motor good enough? Thanks.

  • @mamatalu I'll start this off bluntly.. The dogfighter should NOT. repeat NOT be your first plane. Or your second, even third! Its an advanced plane for advanced pilots.. YOU WILL CRASH IT! I can not stress this enough! Secondly, I never buy hobby parts online. If I can't get it at a hobby store I most likely will not buy it. I prefer quality. Im using an OS 25 size, 1200 kv motor, 50 amp Castle Ice ESC, 9x9 prop, and Thunder Power 3 cell 65c 2250mah packs. Hitec HS65mg Servos. NOT A CHEAP PLANE

  • Don't you get sick and tired of the "no way it went that fast, I have a computer program that says so... wah wah wah". The same banal arguments go on with glow powered models. Not to say that there are not some exaggerated claims out there, but your is totally realistic and achievable. It's way cool, but there is nothing other-wordly or unbelievable about 113mph!

And RC combat IS a total blast! Even with Slow Stiks (full contact even better - bring tape!)

  • Wonderful video. I think I will buy one asap

  • wow, just 3S. Good work mate.

  • That was some of the coolest RC footage I've seen! What motor would I use if I didn't want to go that fast? What is the eflite equivalent to what u used?

  • @apodacainc Thanks! Power 25 would be the closest. Run it on a 4 cell and make sure you get the prop right. Use a prop calculator so nothing gets fried. Your probably looking at needing a 50 amp ESC. Goodluck!

  • WOW!!! +1 and then some!

Sign me up for the Corps...That thing was 'Spankin' It' BIGTIME!

Awesome video, nice job with the planes...

I love Multiplex, they are becoming my favorite RC airplane company...

Where can I get this plane?

  • @axelsfolks HAHA thanks for your energy and kind words. I agree multiplex is an amazing company. You should be able to find one of these babes at any hobby shop that sells Multiplex or Parkzone. Remember this sucka is a kit, no ready to fly's. So have your wallet open to a sweet Motor Battery combo

  • I also agree that it's doing 183km, remember those that don't believe it, it's only 113MPH,

Love the combat scene. Great video

What material do you use for the streamers?

  • @akky6000 Thanks man. You nailed it with the mph comparison. I think a lot of americans that watch this probably don't even notice its in km. We use tissue paper streamers from a dollar store.. Nothing special. Its great fun, I highly recommend getting some friends together and trying it out. Its worth the crashes..

  • I also agree that it's doing 183km, remember those that don't believe it, it's only 113MPH,

  • I've seen the negative comments and i'm sorry to say boys i think this plane is moving as fast as he says ;-) just look at it in the video because that bad boy is eating up the sky,i've got to check out them OS motors now ;-) thumbs up.

  • @startazz Thanks for the support man. indeed this plane is going that fast, and OS makes amazing motors. Many of my planes now have them. This airframe is a real treat for far planes too so keep it in mind

  • bottom line is most of the guy's that fly this fast little number can't handle it, and those of you that leave remarks about the speed can't believe it, come out and we'll line up on the runway and we will gladly do a high speed run for you just above your head, with a radar gun of your choosing, plus your brain should be able to judge a good speed, in real life,

  • I beleive you use a motor named OS OMA 3820-1200. This motor turns a 10x7-prop with 10300 RPM (3 cells) (taken from the product sheet). A 10x10 will be turned slower by the motor because the 10x10-prop brakes more than the 10x7 does. To achieve a speed of 180km/h your 10x10-prop needs to turn with over 13000 rpm. So, if you use the named motor with 3 cells, you will not achieve a speed of 180km/h, you will get about 130 km/h, perhaps little more.

Try to doppler your videos and add 10 percent...

  • @KnurglWurgl I don't disagree with your math but I'm not lying to you. I just got back from the field. This morning I purchased a Bushnell Velocity radar gun and put it side by side with the pocket radar gun used in the video and not only were they the same but we managed to hit 185 with the same plane and a slight tail wind. Now one thing one of the other pilots mentioned is that up here we are at almost 4000 ft above sea level so the thin air might play a factor. These are just the facts.

  • @RobscoRC : Then you must be the lucky one who got a 1200-motor that has more KV than the datasheets tell ... It would be nice if you can upload a video without music for better doppler-calculation, this isnt so bad as you think,, it is slighly slower depending on the distance of the camera to the model, but its only 5 to 15 percent when good pilots stear the models in adequate distances...

  • @KnurglWurgl There are a few of us running these motors now including myself and we all have noticed a significant increase in performance. It would not surprise me at all if the information about the motor was not 100% correct. For example the Castle Ice series of speed controllers can handle 15-20 amps more then there rated amperage without any issues. Usually this is a company "Playing it safe" on a piece of electronics that can't have a specific label put on it due to manufacturing condition

  • @RobscoRC : OK, a maximum current of a device, it is good for the buyer to get something like that, it can handle lower currents, of course.

But a higer KV, than noted, thats nothing good, it is something bad. IT is a measurement that should match the label, otherwiese you get a combination of prop and motor that has no power or it will break your motor or ESC or battery.

I hope that you know about the meaning of KV and that is nothing saying anything about quality ...

  • @KnurglWurgl Unless you are in a dive. Get your head out of the lab and into the field professor.

  • I have measured the 183-flight-scene with a doppler-tool, and it shows 84 km/h ... So, use an other radar gun. Can you please post the type of the used gun?

  • @KnurglWurgl You should read some of the other comments. Doppler effect measurement is not accurate because it will give you a certain speed based on a specific distance away from the device. If the object is further away then you need to factor that in yourself and I am not good enough at math to do that. We use radar guns because they have a long history of being accurate. We have tried using doppler applications before and they have always been off by 15 to 20 km/h.

  • do you have a link to the gun? looks good, more like a phone or something than a big ole gun.

  • @cornishcactus I do not sadly. Its owned by one of our pilots at the field. Its very handy and seems to be very accurate

  • is that a doppler app on an i phone or something?

i used to use a pylon program to check out recordings but live would be great. their more accurate the closer you are, if not you need to factor in the distance which is probably why yours are a little shy

  • @cornishcactus no its a small radar gun. Doppler isn't accurate enough

  • Can you please tell us what motor (KV and so on) is used? I allways understand 400KV-motor and three cells, so this leads to a maximum-speed about 80 to 100 km/h, not more, even with a 10x10-apc-prop.

If you have a clean audio-file showing a flighby there is the possibility to calculate speed, much better than GPS, GPS always lies ... :)

  • @KnurglWurgl Well it was stated right at the beginning of the video. Its a 1200 kv OS 25 size motor, running a 3 cell lipo. We actually use a real radar gun at our field so we don't have to worry about inaccuracy, not to mention we have tried the sound style ones and they are 10-15 km/h off of what the radar gun says, so we don't trust them. GPS is actually very accurate depending on the GPS and its signal strength. We use them in our hexicopters for altitude and they are accurate to 3 feet

  • Too Cool!!!

  • Congrats Robsco, from low speed crawlers movie editing to the airplane speed passes... you OWNED !

  • @RCGIGSportugal HAHA Thank you VERY much!! Diversity through Versatility! My background is airplanes, and I've been making movies since I was a kid, to the point where i've been doing it professionally for 5 years, I'm glad my projects like this can bring a smile.. Im going to plug my new TV show now.. Watch "Hell On Wheels" November 6th on AMC!!! Every sunday night after "The Walking Dead"!!

  • @RobscoRC

Can't believe... a RC TV show... it will be great with you "behind the decks" on that show, We'll watch and stay tuned 4 sure !

  • @RCGIGSportugal Oh I wish it were an RC show.. "Hell on Wheels" is a western mini series. Its going to be epic. head to AMC's website for information!

  • very nice vid.

  • FAAAAAAKE!

    ;)

  • @tylersphile IIIIIIDIOT! not fake in the slightest. none of my videos have any "fake" aspect to them, and if you knew even the slightest about RC planes you would know this is not fake.. We fly over 200 km/h at our field every weekend. One guy is currently trying to break 300, highest so far is 265.. Thanks for watching anyway, even if you don't want to believe me

  • @tylersphile

If you don't know what you R talking about, go away fake person

  • Nice

at the end it looks like a ballet !!

In any case, I find it quiet

  • Cool Stuff Dude!

    Thanks!

  • dude love the paint job on that plane looks bad ars.

  • Hit Subscribe!! No I will not give you a bribe...

  • haha the music fits perfectly

  • @rcthrasher I thought so too!
