With just washing our hands, flushing our toilets , and showering we use literally ten of thousands of gallons of water. And that for one person. I did the math on one of my videos if you want to check out my page. But we need to use less.
We usually don't treasure things which are abundant in life. Water is there, use it, waste it... But once we don't have it, that's the only time that we appreciate its importance. WHY SHOULD WE WAIT FOR THAT TIME, ONCE YOU LOSS IT, ITS GONE, YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BY THEN... SO START SAVING WATER NOW.
Desalinization is not really a good answer because it uses quite a lot of energy. You have to compress the seawater to 20 atmospheres of pressure, and regularly scrape off the brine.
It's expensive and difficult, so I wouldn't count on it for more than a supplement.
This is really a nice video. We should not only conserve on water though, but also protect the things that allow us to have water like trees and such alike.
That's right we should save water for the future!!...we should save fresh water....even though it evaporates sometimes when it turns to rain water it has acids....or in seas, ocean, lakes, etc.....the water becaming acidic because of too much CO2 to our planet.... =)
water never will run out. It may become undrinkable but the sun purifies it for us. If the sun dies in like a million+ years then we have bigger problems then that.
@dascarletm Do you have a slight idea how much more time and money consuming this is? That's like the worst-case scenario. No, just wait for the water price to reach the oil price and your grandchildren may be will understand the point. But as always on that planet - too late.
It's man-made. Chicago is drained to the Mississippi through a canal / river system since the 1800's (Chicago sewerage and sanitary canal). But yes, we are overdrafting groundwater from certain area without sufficient recharge.
The problem is that water is moved from one area to another. We are drafting water from our freshwater lakes, groundwater, etc and letting it run into oceans faster than it be replenished through evaporation and rain.
For example, Chicago lies mostly in the Mississippi watershed, so the water it draws from Lake Michigan is drained into the Gulf of Mexico.
Although most of the earth is covered with water, the "water crisis" is conserved with fresh water.

@shazfern water cannot get wasted in our planet it goes around to the sea and evaporates, rains, flows in rivers. ITS AN ENDLESS LOOP...

Personaly, I REASON, that, if we 'save' water then the concentration of poisons in the water will increase.
I say, KEEP THE TAPS RUNNING to dilute the poisons... and f*** the expense!

it cant be destroyed unless steaming it but we can run out and i dont think i wanna use used water O_O

Everyday you use "used water" there is no unused water. And water can´t also be destroyed by steaming it .
