Marrow here. Thank you all for your submissions. We are in full review mode and definitely have our favorties. We'll be announcing the winner very soon.

We're just finishing up our new player for our site. This will allow a lot more functionality to the remix section.

Sorry for the delay on the winner announcement, we've been very busy as of late, but give us a few more days and all will be good.

I have attempted to download the Logic stem multiple times and get the following error message:

Is the Logic version still available?

we have to review every remix before we can publish it in our jukebox. So it may take a few minutes for us to get it up there. But it will get up there. We love what we're hearing so keep it up, everyone.

A note to all remixers:

Our jukebox hates illegal characters. So don't use any illegal characters in your file names ( i.e &,%,$,@,!,*,?^,#)

We have to rename files when you do this, so it slows the process down a bit.

just checking -- how long does it take for an upload to show up on the remix page? i waited for a while (10 odd mins), but my upload is not showing up yet -- not sure whether any further processing is reqd...? Jairam

I just tried twice to upload an mp3 (320Kbps, 13.6MB) and got an error message both times at the end of the upload: "failed to open stream: no such directory..."

Is it the wrong file format/size? Or maybe it was uploaded after all?

I was just thinking... it would be cool if after the contest finished you put together a playlist of the best remixes from each song on the album and then uploaded it to rapidshare, or made a torrent of it. Thats assuming every song gets remixed, and by competent ninjas that will do them justice. Just throwing that idea out there... *bow*

Cool idea! Protools 8 is definitely a step up. Still kinda glitchy from time to time though. seems like digi took a lesson from logic with their midi editing, and the amount of plugins you get with the software. It was pitiful before... Well, I think maybe ill work some Logic ninjutsu tomorrow and try and pump out a remix. Good way to spend a Sunday! *bow*

Due to the high volume of people signing up, we're gonna decide on a deadline in the next week or so. You'll be given plenty of time. I'll submit a followup video that gives the cutoff date. There are many folks submitting, so I want everyone to get a fair shake at it.

So it doesn't matter how we remix right? Like could I just take the vocal track and use it and replace everything else? Does the melody have to be similar cause a remix can either sound like the original track or take elements from the original track. Either way it probably won't change how I do it :D

If you are in Logic, you can drag all of the MP3 files right into the arrange window, and they will convert to wav. If you use Live, Cubase, FL Studio, etc, they will also convert the mp3 to wav or aiff files on input. They are high quality mp3 files, so you should be okay as far as quality.

converting to wav doesnt change the quality. sry. its just that when you process the fuck out of a 128 kbps mp3 file with all kinds of effects and such, the sound falls apart. i'll give it a go anyway though. i look forward to getting those prizes. ;-D

Do we get brownie points for using techniques you have taught us, or is it based purely on how it sounds?

I will be based on if it ROCKS, or sux. Use whatever tool or technique you like. This is for EVERYONE.

My criteria:

1. Be original

2. Have emotional impact

3. Have a good arrangement

4. Be faithful to your genre, (hip hop? electronic? country? totally original?)

5. Try to use as much of the source material as you can.
