Attacking a 1-3-1 Zone Defense

Northwestern just does not run a good defense. The top guy is way too short, doesn't have his hands up to force the offense to float the ball over him. The wings get way too aggresive, the backside help is garbage and the gaps aren't sealed. This is a clinic on how to expose a garbage 1-3-1

@porterwake yeah, this is some TERRIBLE defensive execution... but MSU still does exactly what they would do vs a good 1-3-1-- good reversals, penetrate gaps, and exploit the baseline when a wing defender is engaged on the ball.

pittsburg played their 1-3-1 and they did really good. most shots they are crossing up the defense or making it in their face

whhahaa.. i just notice.. they play the point guard at the base line and he aint movin from side to side.. thats why the wings have to work so hard because the front man is a big man and slow, so slashers can go pass thru him and the middle man cant do anything but watch.
