People who study political history usually read them. I've never seen a book on how to molest children and get away with it in any library or bookshop and I've been to a lot. There is often a fine line between freedom of speech & incitement to a criminal acts. In countries like America they often err on the side of freedom, other countries err on the side of caution.
With sexuality we probably should be more careful because of the nature of the beast that is more easily incited to act than other desires (particularly so with aberrant sexuality like pedophilia).
... I doubt Amazon would sell these books if they were illegal, but this doesn't mean they *should* sell them (or that they should be legal) because even a corporation can decide to act on the ethics of its shareholders or board members.
It's worth find out more about what is in these books before taking action. Has anyone tried using the "search inside" feature? Are they comments about pedophilia (using titles/covers for shock effect) or do they actually facilitate or encourage criminal acts?

I tend to think the registry laws aren't going to be around much longer. People are starting to see the constitutional problems with them, the practical problems with them are starting to become apparent (like sex offenders living under bridges in Florida and freezing to death in Michigan) and people are beginning to mount legal challenges against these laws. In time I hope they will all be struck down because they are a danger to everybody's freedom.

People who study political history usually read them. I've never seen a book on how to molest children and get away with it in any library or bookshop and I've been to a lot. No I didn't boycott Amazon I closed my account. Political History is fascinating though isn't it.

Just for the record there are MANY other companies including Barnes and Noble that not only sell materials like this, but they also sell animal abuse materials as well (dog and cock fighting, etc). Apparently if there's a demand, then there will be a supply. I've never understood how violent materials that promote or enhance illegal acts are allowed to be on the shelves. If you don't want to buy this book, then DON'T. Thats perfectly fine, its your opinion. However it's not your place to tell other people what literature they can/cannot read. In fact, they seem to view abused children as «damaged goods» who have lost the «innocence» which they believe makes children valuable, so it's no wonder they might wish to throw away those children. To expand on that, I think there are types of books that major stores should not carry. Books like "bomb making for dummies" and "the amateur's guide to sneaking past airport security." What you are talking about is a category of books that not only advocate, but provide relevant information and knowledge that would help someone prepare for and carry out a harmful and illegal act. You need to make the case that this category of literature should not be sold online, not call commenters idiots.

I tend to think the registry laws aren't going to be around much longer. People are starting to see the constitutional problems with them, the practical problems with them are starting to become apparent (like sex offenders living under bridges in Florida and freezing to death in Michigan) and people are beginning to mount legal challenges against these laws. In time I hope they will all be struck down because they are a danger to everybody's freedom.
