@BoxyTheSpaceDog All the jets you have listed, with the exception of the Pak-Fa, would have been destroyed by the Raptor's AIM-120D before entering dog-fight range. A F-22 can usually carry 6 of that, so the chance of surviving the salvo is nearly 0%.
Last I heard was that any SU-27 family can carry much more than 6 missiles of different ranges!Russian missiles are far more advanced than what US has(there's a video about it"US AIR supremacy threatened by Russia and China",some Russian missiles have range of over 300km!Maneuverability,engines,survivability(avoiding enemy ECM or decoys)until reaching the target of those missiles is also better.Check the other side's performance before typing nonsense.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog SSSh... Those reports claiming Russian missiles to be superior ALWAYS come out when the Air Force need more budget... don't tell the Senators!! Do you think the US defense industry can't make something better with 15+ years of time? Think about it.
@BoxyTheSpaceDog very incorrect, the russian R-77(russias most advanced AA missile)has a range of 60-80km(those reports saying 160km is all propaganda)the rest of those missiles(like the KS-172)are AWACS killers, they have a long range but EXTREMELY limited maneuverability,it is physically impossible for them to engage fighters. also russian missiles have absolutely inferior guidance systems when compared to something like the AIM-120D and the AIM-9X. and the F-22 can carry 8 missiles internally.
@xXxEDUXxX16 Yes and no. The F-22s in Guam had multiple failures due to heavy rainstorms. But AFAIK, all other stealth fighters in service today are also vulnerable to rain.

@TheGXDivider ya. I like to watch the planes shoot down other planes. I listen to stories from A-10 pilots. From what I've gathered, they are THE bravest men on earth (and women for people who cannot comprehend that I mean people by men)
@KnightSlav You must be a real expert comparing a 8,5t true fighter like the F-16 with an overweight 18,4t multi role aircraft like the SU-35.....the F16 would fly a donut arround that fat bird while shooting holes in it.Besides: The Su 35 is so expensive that even the Russians can only afford 11 units, while the US have 4000 F16´s...
@yoshitoranaga1111 The F-22 has thrust-vector nozzles. It can easily beat a SU-35 in a dogfight. The SU-37 MAY have a chance to win in a dogfight, but the development has halted.
@RaptureandZune F 22 is still not demonstrated any outstanding results in piloting. I doubt that he has a chance to win MIG 29 in dogfight ... not to mention the MiG 29 OVT, Su 35 or SU 37. @RaptureandZune The fact that F 22 and SU-35/37 vektor thrust varies only in one plane. up and down, but rate change of angle Russians machines composes 30 ° per second and F 22 - 20°in the second. The MiG-29 OVT as you know, the vector engine thrust changes in all planes, This making it the most maneuverable aircraft in the world. And more, this F 22 is close to them and not vice versa

@TheKneekap Can't you just get your facts straight before showing your ignorance? The SU-27 is an early 80s fighter, a rivalry to the F-15. No, it doesn't has ANY kind of thrust vectoring. The only "combat-ready" Russian jet with thrust vectoring are some SU-30s, SU-37 (crashed) and SU-35BM (similar to SU-37). Only the SU-35BM/SU-37 have real 3D thrust that may beat the F-22 in a dogfight. Moreover, in about 85% chance the Sukhoi would have been destroyed before entering a dogfight.
@RaptureandZune lol, get your facts straight sir. the SU-27 was the test platform for thrust vectoring, which they later incorporated into the SU-30MK and SU-37 models. how else do you think the SU-27 pulls off the maneuvers it can? it is still one of the most agile aircraft in existence. and i'm not talking about dogfights, like i stated in my previous comment...
@TheKneekap First, when we talk about military stuff on the internet, "SU-27" means the basic model. If you want to describe a specific variant, use its full name. Second, the basic SU-27 could perform Pugachev's Cobra without any vectoring thrust (In 1989 Paris). That's why the Flanker is so highly praised for its aerodynamic design.
@RaptureandZune and the rest of its breath taking maneuvers? so even if the main run of the mill SU-27 didn't have thrust vectoring, it's still more maneuverable than the F-22 in it's form today lol. it's fails
one more thing about the F-22, everyone is hyping up this super-cruise thing like its a late development lol. it's not really that special
@TheKneekap also the F-22 is infinitely more maneuverable than a Su-27. and the F-22 has much more to it than the fastest supercruise of any fighter in existence. it also has the best avionics,RWRs,radar, and far superior stealth.
@AVIV222 How so? There are 195 F-22s in service. The F-35 was supposed to be cheap, but with so many development problems and delays, it now costs almost as much as the F-22.
@kvmairforce Nay, it had been "shot down" during a red-flag exercise in the late 1980s by the RAF. The RAF pilot was flying a English Electric Lightning, a jet from the 1950s.
you know what interest me. f1 drivers has to where HANS but fighter pilots doesn't... well if you think HANS is only there for crashes. i guess, im not sure.
@WishingForSerenity yeah i thought of that just when i clicked comment. i guess the HANS is only there for sudden change of g forces like during a crash. which only happens once or never in a fighter pilots carrier.
@MrTurdFurgerson F-15s are air superiority fighters and always have been...they are great dogfighters and great ground attack aircraft...during the Gulf War they shot down like 31 fighters without a scratch...just pointing that out
@zenoparodie so, you are saying that you are a peace loving man, if so, im a peace loving man too, so, we gonna stop this dogfight(argument)? yeah, you are right, in wars, many innocent people are killed, but i support to use this machines to stop the terrorist from killing innocents, not these machines will kill civilians. now it clear, no more dogfights, LOL!!
@Roger5970 no..it's part of a documentary called "operation red flag" i think it's here on youtube..it's pretty neat...think of the movie top gun and the whole "best of the best" training scenario...they have real dog fights and i think it's an international competition with pilots from all over the world...highly recommend watching it! :)
@zenoparodie so, f22`s are made for just airshows? WHY DO GOVERMENT SPEND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS FOR THESE JETS JUST FOR AIRSHOWS? JET FIGHTERS ARE MADE TO FIGHT BAD GUYS IF THEY DONT WANT TO SURRENDER, AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN "SLAUGHTER" OF PEOPLE? WHERE DID YOU SAW JETS USING THEIR MISSILES AND GUNS JUST TO SHOOT SPECTATORS OR CIVILIANS?
i was saying that wars are the parts that i dont support, which so include the killing of people, and i think they should just be used for research and technology demonstration purposes
F16 - an A-G - taking on F15 - air superiority? a bit unrealistic. to reflect the reaility of russians vs nato f15s should be taking on f16 in dog fights to represent su50 vs f22s. jsf 35 is out of the dog fight scope
Hey, I'm looking for a video, possibly from a Red Flag exercise, where, after landing, a pilot does some kind of gesture like the horns sign towards another pilot from inside the cockpit. Can you help me please? Thank you!
@OlderG0ds i'm talking about the editing that went into this vid making the dogfight looks more like a star wars sequence rather than the planes getting one each other tails and trying to take the other guy out, planes havent been bounced like that since WW2, its great for recruiting (who wouldnt be a fighter pilot!) but not a true reflection of the action.
This is utter bullshit. The f15 KILLS the f16 TOTALLY. This is straight propaganda. The f15 can point straight vertical and ACCELERATE. If the f16 tries to go vertical, the f16 falls. THAT'S ALL the f15 pilot would have to do, is go straight up until he broke the engagement, then acquire the f16 as a target on his way back down, gaining devastating air speed. This "dog fight" was thrown. The f15 pilots can not possibly be so stupid to loose air to air combat against a plane with 1 engine.
Alot of this was shot in Mountain home AFB Idaho training airspace.
The lake on the right at 1:21 is the Bybee Reservoir at 42°15'27.66"N 116°15'40.38"W the view is looking to the south. The water far in the distance in the upper right is the Mountain View Lake at 42° 2'40.23"N 116° 9'32.81"W
@Xxibanez619Xx No that's not Japanese it's an F-16 from the 64th Aggressor Squadron of the USAF. By the way Japs use Mitsubishi F-2 it's a little bit different than F-16.
Lets clear this up. The footage is of real F-16s and F-15Cs (some shots actually have E models in them...), but this is NOT real dogfighting. Its just footage thrown together with poor voice acting. This whole film is fake for the majority of the time and does not show REAL BFM/ACM. It was made for the general ignorant public to be entertained. Being a pilot myself having flown REAL BFM/ACM, this entire movie is more of an insult to fighter pilots then anything.
The CANADIAN SOCIETY OF CINEMATOGRAPHERS did an good little article on how some of this was shot.
It's online at their site in the magazine archived article section. December / 2005 From IMAX: FIGHTER PILOT: OPERATION RED FLAG. It does say "Director Stephen Low instructed the pilots on the shots he needed to get." So it was indeed scripted. Of course, all you really need to see is the first 7 seconds of this video. No ACMI pods on those F-16s.
If you guys think F-15's are the shit, clearly you've never been around experimental planes before on an AF base. The difference between F-15's/16's and the stuff we have in development, it's like bringing a stick to a stick to a nuke fight. It's a surreal and amazing experience to know that planes like these are a thing of the past already.
@jedimaster996 Yeah, they run simulations and our newer fighters can beat loads of F15s at the same time. Though the F-15 is battle-tested, and you can't put a price on that.
@TumisHumis AND, the F-15 has Never Lost an encounter during real battle versus hostile aircraft. Something to think about, as you say. Battle-tested counts a lot.
@kacoll3 That's true, but you could say that about the F-22, F-35, FA-18E, basically any fighter we have in our arsenal. The F-15 is a single engine jet, this give it a disadvantage going into the future. It was a huge innovation, but will be surpassed within the next 5-10 years by virtually all modern militaries.
@TumisHumis Oh yes its True; McDonnell Douglas told me so, lol. But as you suggest I suppose we could say the same & add the SR-71, the Piper Cub (unless we count Corn fields as an enemy!?), and well pretty much any American plane that's flown in harms way ... anything not being flown by a Navy Pilot anyway ... chuckle }8-D
@sniperkid90 Yeah except we sold most of our F-15's to Israel and whoever else had the money to pay, same can be said for the F-16 in a few more years. Military hardware, America's #1 Export.
@sniperkid90 Well...the US exports aircraft all over the world, often to countries that are pro-US but hostile to each other. For instance, if Egypt and Israel ever go to war again, you'd see Israeli F-15s engaging (read: obliterating) Egyptian F-16s. So it's not out of the question
@remo306 That is a very interesting proposition to see such an encounter ... tho I don't hope for such to happen. But there even then, there would always be the question of Just What "Options" USA included for planes sold to other countries. I doubt we give many our full technology. (EG I believe the Patriot missles fired at SCUD's of Iraq were American manned. I could be wrong. And maybe Israel got its own after that ... do you know? I'm not up on that info, despite watching coverage)
@NKjetkid Depends; I've seen some rather large pilots, but with the intensive training that they go through, and all of the knowledge it takes to fly those power-houses, I could care less if he's 300 pounds, so long as he does his job efficiently and effectively
@stealth694 You're a fucking idiot and I would be surprised if you have done any research on either airframe.
The F-15C/D is a highly maneuverable air superiority fighter able to partake in a variety of low and high speed manoeuvres. It is able to take off from a runway, pitch to 90• and continue to accelerate.
The F-16C/D was designed primarily as a 'budget' MULTI-ROLE fighter; this role means it is good' at most roles but certainly not 'master' of anything.
Them F15s cant fuck with that F16 Fly-By-Wire...But I can tell you one thing, those F15 Pilots are almost superior outmanuevering those 16s like that.
@Mach1Entertainment But the larger F-15 planes can carry the 80 miles plus "Phoenix missle" ... aka The Deciding Factor, unless F-16 counter measures stop it. Before any dogfight or visual. But how can we know what an F-16 can really counter? Its a bit of a secret, and they don't Get Phoenix missles fired at them, as far as I know ... :) Cheers.
@kacoll3 I used to work on F15s when I was in the Air Force, the missile youre trying to refer to is the Sparrow, the F14 is what carried the Phoenix and the Sparrow Missile only has a range of 20 miles I believe in its radius if Im not mistaken.
@Mach1Entertainment The one for F-15 I am thinking of is loaded midline on the plane, tho I don't recall if that is inside or external? Would that be a Sparrow then? Surely the F-15 is Large Enough to carry a Phoenix that way, isn't it? If they do not, I wonder why? Do you know?
@kacoll3 You know what you might be right but I dont remember unloading Phoenix missiles, I was a Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist meaning that I loaded and unloaded ammunition onto the aircraft, The missiles I remember are the Sidewinder, AMRAAM and Sparrow...
The f15 is by far superior to the f16. Now they're doing away with the f15s. They're going to leave our air force, weak as a 1 engine fighter jet, while China and Russia amass drones enough to smear America easily. This government is sold out to the Rothschild's Empire fierce.
@danielvincentkelley 'Are U experiencing drone troubles?! Think "Patriot Missle" my friends, Now on sale at the low low price...' & I must go buy Raytheon now :) Re drones, believe ours faster flying & better targeting, than theirs for some time to come, if desired. But read the other day, China gains potential to exceed our mainframe speed. Added to your info, it is something to look at, indeed. My big Ques: To have Best drones(ala USA), or Lots of throwaways (ala USSR)?
Patriot missiles don't kill stealth drones flying under radar anyhow. Plus, patriot missiles are not widely deployed in America. The massive dependence for aerial protection in America is on fighter jets. There might be a handful of places that could have patriot missiles there in an hour. But if they do it right, it'll be over in 15 minutes, life as you know it. No drones. Dissolve murderous governments. Global prosecution of the criminals pretending governance. Direct democracy.
To round up all those murderous criminal governments is more a mission for man power. It's going to require people recognize taking orders to fight for a pay check, is not worth it. When it gets so wide that the US is being attacked by drones, the battle will already be lost world wide, pretty much how it is today, all the people fighting for freedom and justice are getting smeared, all the people fighting for a pay check under orders from war profiteers murder easily.
Its Red Flag people! it is to help train pilots and keep them alert. They do it at Nellis Afb along with many other Red Flag operations. That is the need for aggressor squadrons to pose a life like threat.
This is not a "real" dogfight recording. Dogfight training can hardly be filmed because it moves too fast, here the jets evolve super slowly. The closest to "real" dogfight would be "Sky Fighters", which makes the sequences sketchy and difficult to follow. This is waaaaay too slow, so viewers can actually see something (like Top Gun). It's a bit like a John Wayne fistfight compared to mixed martial arts.
@ewthmatth you know the whole idea of dog fighting is to stay behind the enemy right? The pilots want to be as slow as possible while maintaining maneuverability. Most dog fights are engage with speed slower than 200 miles per hour.
@greatestyang Dogfights are fought at speeds of ranging anywhere from 200 - 500 knts mostly above 300 knts And if you think this is real it isnt trust me i know ive seen real dogfights and just watch 1:27- 1:30 he breaks left but the plane is rolling right????? Soo fake.
very nice movie this is a exercise between a f-16 and a f-15 strike eagle.The f-16 wins because a f-16 is very manouverable.Greetings from Holland.Piet
dude, r u serious with your comment ? get some research . This was film for IMAX movie. Ask any f 16 pilot about this , the all watched this movie hundreds of times. Red flag is training operation , takes places in Nevada or Alaska. This movie was just shot during this training. this part with breaking left and rollin right is just bad montage. nothing fake about any of this. all shots were made during real advanced combat training.
@spadeheartdesign ALOT of this IMAX film was done for the camera. Some of the footage was even shot in the simulator. So yes, some of it is fake. How do i know? My friend edited this film for imax!!
@ewthmatth you can't be that stupid... How can you measure speed when you don't know the position and direction of the aircrafts relative to the clouds you see behind them...... clueless kiddo !
In fact, 2:22, the kill shot supposedly made by the F-16, was actually shot inside an F-15 cockpit... I missed that the first time. I knew it sounded chessey.
Huh, that's interesting... I just realized the F-16 pilot has the control stick between his legs, but I am pretty sure all Falcons use the HOTAS 2 piece throttle and controller... interesting...

Only the SU-35BM/SU-37 have real 3D thrust that may beat the F-22 in a dogfight. Moreover, in about 85% chance the Sukhoi would have been destroyed before entering a dogfight.
RaptureandZune 5 days ago
@RaptureandZune lol, get your facts straight sir. the SU-27 was the test platform for thrust vectoring, which they later incorporated into the SU-30MK and SU-37 models. how else do you think the SU-27 pulls off the maneuvers it can? it is still one of the most agile aircraft in existence. and i'm not talking about dogfights, like i stated in my previous comment...
TheKneekap 4 days ago
@TheKneekap First, when we talk about military stuff on the internet, "SU-27" means the basic model. If you want to describe a specific variant, use its full name. Second, the basic SU-27 could perform Pugachev's Cobra without any vectoring thrust (In 1989 Paris). That's why the Flanker is so highly praised for its aerodynamic design.
RaptureandZune 4 days ago
@RaptureandZune and the rest of its breath taking maneuvers? so even if the main run of the mill SU-27 didn't have thrust vectoring, it's still more maneuverable than the F-22 in it's form today lol. it's fails
one more thing about the F-22, everyone is hyping up this super-cruise thing like its a late development lol. it's not really that special
TheKneekap 4 days ago
@TheKneekap also the F-22 is infinitely more maneuverable than a Su-27. and the F-22 has much more to it than the fastest supercruise of any fighter in existence. it also has the best avionics,RWRs,radar, and far superior stealth.

@kvmairforce Nay, it had been "shot down" during a red-flag exercise in the late 1980s by the RAF. The RAF pilot was flying a English Electric Lightning, a jet from the 1950s.

HANS would be way to restrictive for a fighter pilot who needs to be able to look at threats almost behind him.

@filmonewaldeabsebhat I don't think you know what the word propaganda means.
OlderG0ds 1 month ago
@OlderG0ds i'm talking about the editing that went into this vid making the dogfight looks more like a star wars sequence rather than the planes getting one each other tails and trying to take the other guy out, planes havent been bounced like that since WW2, its great for recruiting (who wouldnt be a fighter pilot!) but not a true reflection of the action.
filmonewaldeabsebhat 1 month ago
This is utter bullshit. The f15 KILLS the f16 TOTALLY. This is straight propaganda. The f15 can point straight vertical and ACCELERATE. If the f16 tries to go vertical, the f16 falls. THAT'S ALL the f15 pilot would have to do, is go straight up until he broke the engagement, then acquire the f16 as a target on his way back down, gaining devastating air speed. This "dog fight" was thrown. The f15 pilots can not possibly be so stupid to loose air to air combat against a plane with 1 engine.

@MasonPilot06

It's a surreal and amazing experience to know that planes like these are a thing of the past already.
jedimaster996 3 months ago
@jedimaster996 Yeah, they run simulations and our newer fighters can beat loads of F15s at the same time. Though the F-15 is battle-tested, and you can't put a price on that.
TumisHumis 3 months ago
@TumisHumis AND, the F-15 has Never Lost an encounter during real battle versus hostile aircraft. Something to think about, as you say. Battle-tested counts a lot.
kacoll3 1 month ago
@kacoll3 That's true, but you could say that about the F-22, F-35, FA-18E, basically any fighter we have in our arsenal. The F-15 is a single engine jet, this give it a disadvantage going into the future. It was a huge innovation, but will be surpassed within the next 5-10 years by virtually all modern militaries.
TumisHumis 1 month ago
@TumisHumis The f-15 has 2 engines..... you have no idea what you are talking about at all.

@sniperkid90 Yeah except we sold most of our F-15's to Israel and whoever else had the money to pay, same can be said for the F-16 in a few more years. Military hardware, America's #1 Export.
renardthatch 3 months ago
@sniperkid90 Well...the US exports aircraft all over the world, often to countries that are pro-US but hostile to each other. For instance, if Egypt and Israel ever go to war again, you'd see Israeli F-15s engaging (read: obliterating) Egyptian F-16s. So it's not out of the question
remo306 3 months ago
@remo306 That is a very interesting proposition to see such an encounter ... tho I don't hope for such to happen. But there even then, there would always be the question of Just What "Options" USA included for planes sold to other countries. I doubt we give many our full technology. (EG I believe the Patriot missles fired at SCUD's of Iraq were American manned. I could be wrong. And maybe Israel got its own after that ... do you know? I'm not up on that info, despite watching coverage)

Mach1Entertainment 3 months ago
@Mach1Entertainment But the larger F-15 planes can carry the 80 miles plus "Phoenix missle" ... aka The Deciding Factor, unless F-16 counter measures stop it. Before any dogfight or visual. But how can we know what an F-16 can really counter? Its a bit of a secret, and they don't Get Phoenix missles fired at them, as far as I know ... :) Cheers.
kacoll3 1 month ago
@kacoll3 I used to work on F15s when I was in the Air Force, the missile youre trying to refer to is the Sparrow, the F14 is what carried the Phoenix and the Sparrow Missile only has a range of 20 miles I believe in its radius if Im not mistaken.
Mach1Entertainment 1 month ago
@Mach1Entertainment The one for F-15 I am thinking of is loaded midline on the plane, tho I don't recall if that is inside or external? Would that be a Sparrow then? Surely the F-15 is Large Enough to carry a Phoenix that way, isn't it? If they do not, I wonder why? Do you know?
kacoll3 1 month ago
@kacoll3 You know what you might be right but I dont remember unloading Phoenix missiles, I was a Aircraft Armament Systems Specialist meaning that I loaded and unloaded ammunition onto the aircraft, The missiles I remember are the Sidewinder, AMRAAM and Sparrow...

Are you telling me, the US no longer has a jet fighter that can tote a missile, that has a 100 mile range... That's nuts.
danielvincentkelley 1 month ago
@Mach1Entertainment
The f15 is by far superior to the f16. Now they're doing away with the f15s. They're going to leave our air force, weak as a 1 engine fighter jet, while China and Russia amass drones enough to smear America easily. This government is sold out to the Rothschild's Empire fierce.
danielvincentkelley 1 month ago
@danielvincentkelley 'Are U experiencing drone troubles?! Think "Patriot Missle" my friends, Now on sale at the low low price...' & I must go buy Raytheon now :) Re drones, believe ours faster flying & better targeting, than theirs for some time to come, if desired. But read the other day, China gains potential to exceed our mainframe speed. Added to your info, it is something to look at, indeed. My big Ques: To have Best drones(ala USA), or Lots of throwaways (ala USSR)?
kacoll3 1 month ago
@kaco
Direct democracy.
danielvincentkelley 1 month ago
@kacoll3
