After watching this interview, I was actually influenced to read "1984."

But on the contrary I found it really interesting and relevant, in contrast to what he thought was a "boring political book" when he was younger. Lots of themes are connected to the Resistance.

Imo it's def a classic everyone should read....

Yes matt read it again (first time when he was a teen) before making the resistance. He said he was taken by the love story, and the book's themes do appear in songs like uprising, the resistance, undisclosed desires and united states of eurasia.

yeah I've read it too! Here in Spain it is considered a classic too; after reading it I understood a lot of things of the new album Resistance :D

I need to re-listen to this album to appreciate it more but I already like the sound, the energy and the poetry. I love bands who are not afraid of changing of style or going exactly where they want go to express what they have in mind even if they take the risk of not having the same success than previously. The interview is interesting and I would have been in heaven if they had played in Paris when I've seen U2 this summer!!!

I think this album is really one of Muse's best albums.

not for individual songs, but as a whole. It really makes sense, both as a love story and as a resistance agains the political brainwashing. If you listen to the album in one go, it really is very touching, and that's why it's one of my favorites. I think the greatest thing about Muse is that they have a new sound each album, because they're not afraid to try new things.
