Top power lifters use partials to shore up weak links in lifts. FP's are top-1/2 partials. There's no law against doing FPs-&- BPs. The single best way to develop strength -at- a movement is to practice -the- movement itself, so if you wish to develop strength -at- BPing, yes, you must do them. This doesn't change the fact that -much- more weight can be handled in top-1/2, thus it's an effective strength & mass builder. Proper form within the 1/2 is maintained. Try it.
That's what a FP is. Common before there was a BP. Made popular by wrestler George Hackenschmidt. Good way to safely handle more weight than BP. Everyone can handle more weight at the top than the bottom; & you might as well stress the muscle more if safely. "Power Factor" guys don't even go down this far, & handle huge weights. "Static Contraction" guys almost lock out & don't move at all, w/even higher weights. All of the methods contribute to strength & muscle.
That means the triceps would be used even less then usual. And the chest even more. Ignore everything below the elbow, the pecs brings the upper arm in towards the body.
Thats ok, I only ever comment to be constructive, I hate it when people comment just to slag somthing/ somone off, makes you wonder what their personal life is like lol.
thats true the chest looks like it was rarely used cuz of the fact that he couldnt go lowering.... he mostly used his deltoids and triceps n biceps...and um the shoulders bring the arms towards the body in that restriction not the chest.... close grip focuses more on the chest then deltoids but uses more of triceps..this is wat i feel n do..chest out my chest video if u disagree man
I'm sure he's used a bench, but either way he probably knows more about fitness then you ever will.

You do know that the bench press, or floor press in this case, has hardly anything to do with arms right?

you know i meant chest also, but yes triceps are involved mrwykes.
MARCUSISTHEMEGASTUD 4 years ago
Verry little though, its mainly chest and delts, triceps are very much a secondary muscle, unless its close bench.

looked to me in that lift that the chest was rarely used because of the floor restricting how low it went.
