Really, it sounds like a galant style, surprising! The composers kept such a homogeneity in what they composed: how did the music spread at that time?

And, just like Aida has no melody from Ancient Egypt, this overture has no taste of Aztek music, but I like this cheerful tone! (But Montezuma I know had a tragic end :'( )

I want to know how this opera was!

This is a decent enough overture. It has a certain raw, dance-like property that is befitting of the subject. It sounds a lot like Mozart's early overtures, which is certainly consistent with the date of composition. A little simplistic, but fun nonetheless.

By the way, I get a kick out of the ensembles you manage to stumble across, Thrax. I can't say I had even heard of La Capella della Pieta de'Turchini before this!
