When she is ready for some competition come on down to florida! No disrespect but this looks like an amateur class. the lap times are about 2 to 3 seconds off from ours!
You do know that lap times are entirely dependent on the race track, and car rules, right? This is a small, worn out half mile track, and the cars are running a much harder right-rear than most other Sprint car series' do.
Now... as for them being amateurs... some of them are, some of them are in the Michigan Motorsports Hall of fame. You know that Jason Blonde holds the track record at Bristol? Yea, some of these guys have competed with and beaten him.
@Pyro60000 ~ completely understand...i personally have raced against jason many times and know him very well. I should have worded my comment differently being that i wasnt meaning to hurt your feelings! congrats!!! ive raced sprints since i was 18 and im now 26 and i give u complete respect for your accomplishments...
@Pyro60000 ~~it takes alot of courage to drive these cars and even more to do it at a competitive level! If u feel u wanna take a swing at it take a trip down in early february for speedweeks, you will find names such as Blonde, Tony Stewart, Dave Steele, Troy DeCaire...all the biggest names and fastest guys in the game! but either way you have plenty of time to grow in the sport and become one of these people yourself!!! Good Luck!
@99boyz Check out my other comments I raced against her in quarter midgets and her family had the money for new tires every race, she had a new motor every year (or at least close to it) and she was 50 pounds lighter them me, I still kept up with her, she sucks, I'm good I just wish dad had money for me to race this year, maybe a mod....
She rocks, I'd hate to have to admit I couldn't outrun a 14 year old 8th grade girl. Damn kids these days can race anything and if you let them a lot will smoke yer butt. I watched a 14 year old boy in a late model give everyone else a lesson, and he was friggen tiny, he musta used a booster seat.
@Foxbrosracing33 She also seems to be glued to the inside of the track. I have the July 2nd race (that she won) on video as well, and will post that early next week.
@blytheracer92 But, it can make up for some of the talent you are lacking.... Also, if you are paying someone to tune the motor to turn a little more RPM's then someone like me with alot less money, you are gonna be faster
I ran out of room in my last comment but I wanted to mention something about these engines.
At Spartan, with this tire and no wing, the engine is not winning the race. A good chassis and setup, as well as a good driver is what you need. Tommy won a race last year with an engine old enough to vote. (Before Steve crashed the car.) People have been talking about ways to REDUCE horsepower to run this series. Then again, a good right foot might help that out too.
@Pyro60000 The Fedewa's don't count, they can win driving a Ford model T, but I talked to multiple of my friends about the amount of money they have into the car 20-40 grand is what I was told by many people that they have into the motor, only the motor, and yes I know that the motor is less of a factor in a wingless sprint but when you have 10 grand more into the motor it's gonna be a better motor, I'm just going by experience and my experience racing against her is that she isn't that good
@Foxbrosracing33 yeah i know how you feel but i have beaten the people with more money plenty of times and am usaly faster then those guys on a weekly bases
@blytheracer92 I was able to keep up with them all the time but then I kinda just started getting pissed at them so I just stopped racing because it costing so much money because another one of those people (lots of money hardly any talent) and he purposely started crashing anyone who kept up and it started cost too much money so I said F@$& it and I was done
@mmh96 To be fair, there was a lot of factors involved. She has the best (And newest) equipment on the track. Also, the leader lost brakes, slowing him down considerably. (You saw the lead he had.)
Tom Fedewa (42 car, finished 3rd) even lost power steering, lol.
@Pyro60000 Yeah, I realize most of the guys threw together an old beater chassis with nothing special under the hood just to have fun at this new open wheeled deal @ Spartan. Taylor shows up with a full-blown Stanton powered Beast chassis...been hearing that argument since Saturday. BUT she still did pretty good considering she's never really wheeled a car with that much HP. Not an easy thing to do on a 1/4 mile with no wing.
@Pyro60000 I was there and never heard those excuses before until now in fact Mr Fedewa came down and told the young lady on how she did a great job along with Tommy. The end of the story is she came with the equipment to get the job done the car was 8 yrs old and the motor was a hand me down from Stanton Also the 2nd place guy should learn on how to stay in his own lane and not drive like a windshild wiper if you go high stay there....
@maximhater Just the facts, dude. I didn't call them excuses. Fedewa's car also had a valve cover leaking that caused the smoke. Not sure what was wrong with Snider's car, but his was also smoking. Heeney told me that he thinks he brought a knife to a gun fight.
Tommy is a nice guy. Him going down there and congratulating Taylor is no surprise to me. He also didn't finish the race with a bent nerf bar, the fault of which is debatable and most likely just a racing incident.
@Pyro60000 It just kills me I've been coming to that track for YEARS and when some one comes in new you homers can't stand it when you guys get beat and just so happens to be a girl!!! It's not her Fault on what kind of car she drives she's paid to drive it that's what her crew chief said to me...
And it's not there fault for doing there home work either it seems to me they take there racing more seriously than some of you folks do there at Spartan..
@maximhater This is the first Spartan race I've been to in about 10 years. I don't care who wins, I don't care who loses, I don't even care who crashes.
I call them as I see them, and that's how I saw them. Clearly you have another view on the matter.
I never once discredited her skill. Not once. I mentioned a few factors that helped her cause, and commented that I thought she was too aggressive/impatient, and that's it.
Please don't label me without knowing anything about me.
Haha, I'll grant you that they are all pretty talented, but nobody can win EVERY race. (Unless maybe you're talking about Butch Fedewa at Kalamazoo in the old Dowker offset roadster)
From what I've been hearing, Gary will be racing Spartan this year as well as Tommy. I've also heard that Don Daggett is going to get a car out. There should be a lot more cars this year based on what I've heard, and I'm definitely going to try to record a few more.
lets put her on dirt then will see how good she dose!
