You could compare those warning plates to the Berlin sign "You are leaving the American Sector", in the way they sort of warn you that you're entering in a zone of danger, previous of the safe zone you were. About the Sarcophagus, its iron/concrete look is so sinister and it contains something so terrible you could even say its like the Devil's Graveyard.
Magic meanings. Really nice video. Thanks for sharing!
@DerAdventurer Well put. It's scary to think of how dangerous that reactor is, even today. One step inside the room it's buried in would be a death sentence.
Damn your videos are fantastic ! You've got my resprect to go inside this zone alone and go so close to the reactor ! Lets hope, the new sarkophagus will build up quickly. Salut from France
@Deadvision666 Wrong, the most deadly isotopes have already gone, they have very short half lives, the only isotopes that remain are the less deadly ones. They take longer to harm the human body, the area is really safe, as long as you don't touch the water or plants as they have taken in a lot of radioactive material.
@Deadvision666 No worries, people make mistakes. It's still a spooky place to see though, the animals have reclaimed the land and there are wild packs of wolves, they don't attack people though as they get spooked by humans. CoD 4 made me interested in this place, the map Bloc was intense.
@thomasmc14 yeah same, i first heard of chrenobyl through COD4, whic is probably how most people found out about it, but thats pretty interesting how the animals and wildlife have overtaken the land, there is still radiation there isnt there?
@Deadvision666 Yeah, there is still quite a lot of radiation, but it's low level radiation that takes a while to have any effect. People have started moving back and workers can work 20 hour shifts each week, obviously at a much higher pay. The main thing though is they have to import all their water and food because of the soil radiation.
@Deadvision666 What a shame you didn't hear about Chernobyl disaster before. As far as I remember, I know about it since I was a child. It's well known incident in the history and it's a bit disappionting that people get to know about it from a pc game. And how most of a common people find out about it is history lessons.
Anyway, as thomasmc14 said the radiation is still there, mostly in the plants and metal objects. Wildlife is unlimited. People don't interfere.
@2976847 Yes, people are still living there. Most of them are other reactor blocks workers, also about 40 people working in Chernobyl post office, store and canteen, people who didn't want to leave their homes during the evac. There are also MP members guarding The Exclusion Zone (things could change since 2008). If you're looking for more info about The Moscow Eye search for DUGA radar stations. You can find any info. about Prypiat in the internet, try looking into urban exploration forums.
@Deadvision666 i dont think most ppl heard of it that way xp....most ppl heard of it when it accualy happend lol xp ( forgive me for my poor english )
good choice with the 28 Days Later music, but try to get ur english spelling a bit better "exploaded" should be "exploded" would help with the generally very professional experiencew of this video!
5:35 (COD4 SPOILER) That building was where in Call of Duty 4 Cpt. MacMillan and Lt. Price walked across and a Hind flew right past them! The producers did a nice job recreating Chernobyl in COD4.
Why create to destroy? it doesn't make sense, and people just seem to walk passed the question. We are here to create and and let life live. But all i have been seeing my whole life is creations for destruction and death.
I wasnt making it up for some conspirously theory, i learned this in HS, the design was different from our reactors, they trusted the design and tested it, only doing such a test there is no safety net to stop a melt dwn, it caused it... and it melt.
You can be there certain amount of time, don't stand near the moss, because it absorbs radiation and spreads it. The radiation level in the main streets of pripyat is OK to be there without getting cancer, but always measure the level of radiation, it can change and you will breathe the air with radioactive dust.
very well done, sir...i really must get there someday, it is a dream of mine to stand there where so much life and culture was destroyed, just to be there and know this would be very moving.

Are you allowed to bring the the proper safety gear? Radiation suits, Geiger Counters, that sort of thing.
