Goth and punk were some of the first alternative groups, other poser groups were created supposidly in "the name" of that group such as emo, but has NOTHING to do with it, they only keep on the lable so they can claim they're "hardcore" when really they're not. at all.

Referring to the music thing, I was one time in a music store and was shoppin' around the Rhapsody of Fire records, because Rhapsody is amazing. Some scene kid looked at SYMPHONY OF ENCHANTED LANDS (best CD), and said "Damn, this looks cheesy." He previewed it and said, "Yeah, this sucks balls." then, he turned around and saw my Rhapsody shirt, and scoffed at me.
