@johnsonmath The release point has nothing to do with height. Range comes from your lower body so if your range is based on your upper body form you are going to be inaccurate anyway. All your upper body does is give the ball arc and give it rotation so it holds a line. Terry Teagle, Jamaal Wilks, Derrick Fisher, Kobe Bryant all guys who under 6'9" who shoot with good range using a style where the ball is loaded behind their heads. Stockton shot with it behind his ear and on his shoulder.

Let me tell you a little secret. The only "fundamentals" to the jump shot is release and balance. The rest of the motion is for each shooter to own. Textbook form is for text books not actual application. Ray Allen doesn't extend his elbow completely when he shoots. Dirk and Larry both behind the head shooters. Kobe nowhere near 90. They all have perfect "fundamentals" Each owns the shot that he shoots. Leave the textbooks in the Library play basketball on the court.

99% of the time shooters are born not made. If Ray didn't shoot a ball for 10 years he could pick a ball up go into a gym and out shoot most high level players. I shot 52% from 3 and 94% from the foul line one season in which I could not practice during the week because of a ankle injury... Very few shooters are made.
