I graduated from UBC in the early 1990's and I loved the mix of ethnic groups among the student population while I was there. I should add that I am white. Many of my best friends at UBC were either Canadians of Asian descent or students from Asian countries. I think the problem is perhaps that some whites are envious of the success of Canadians of Asian descent. A lot of hard work lies behind that success. Hard working young people are going to succeed, and skin colour means nothing.

That it is known as a disorder is somewhat ironic because numerically and in terms of human history it was/is more 'normal' for humans not to be able to glean nourishment from the milk of other animals; its just that evolution adapted certain human populations, in Europe mostly, because it was such an advantage for those that could that the ability to do so became a lot more widespread throughout the population over time.

If there is anyone to blame for UBC being too Asians, it is the money hungry white administration. People forget to take into account that international students from Asia have to pay 3 times for the tuition compared to Canadian students. And of course not just anyone can get into UBC. So the administration is going to pick these international students so they should blame themselves if they truly are figuring why UBC is too Asian. Yes there are alot of Asians in UBC, why? you're so absolutely wrong. The only reason International Students pay "more" tuition is because the gov't subsidizes the "extra" $15,000 in tuition for domestic students.
@darthsamurai You may be partly right but for the wrong reasons. International students aren't subsidized by the government. That's why they get charged a different fee. Proportion of international students is a factor in many rankings though; that may be a motivating factor.
