Jersey City was always a beautiful place to live. I was born & raised on the Western Slope of the Heights, one block from the meadows, we had a Tom Sawyer childhood, picking cattails, catching snakes and turtles and camping, all just 5 miles from Time Square, NYC.
@zepcatsal I use to live across the street from that park Van Vorst Park on Montgomery Street, and Ocean Ave i love this video my hometown thanks for the flashbacks
The city has potential but honestly 75% of the people here are a waste of sperm and egg. This is a positive view of this shyty city kudos to the film maker/s nice try lol this is the 7th city I have lived in and the one I dislike the most. Counting the days until I leave this place.
btw, my town (Lawrenceville) was founded in 1697 and Cornwallis spent a night here while fighting the patriots. He said, "One night in Maidenhead (Lawrence) was enough". HA
I'm proud of of what North Jersey is doing. Finally we have a proper city of our own... not just NYC or Philly. I live in the Princeton area... We have money, we have history, we have architecture... but we dont have the nightlife. People don't give NJ enough credit... We have the 2nd highest median income in the country, its the most expensive state to live in, Princeton was our nation's capital before DC even existed... must i go on?
can someone do a nice video of newark too. I am tired of seeing Jersey city all the time. NJ's largest city should be in the spotlight as well even though jersey city is a great city
Beautiful video. Just one thing. Jersey City is right across the river from NYC. So it's basically almost the same thing. But, the other places aren't. So, good video it does make Jersey City look like a Cosmopolitan city.
In the early to mid 1960's, there used to be very little between Grove st. and the river. Some old delapidated buildings and empty lots. The old Colgate building as well. Now it is all built up and very nice. I need to go visit again since I probably could not afford to live there now. Is that Von Vorst Park in the video?.
I love jersey city i grew up in down playing in van vorst park, Hamilton park and going to that library but know i live in the heights and play lots of basket at Hamilton park it just got renovated and is beautiful.
Great.... our city gets some positive exposure. even though this only the downtown section and the rest of the city wasnt featured, this is still moving us in the right direction.
@cherster29 some of it actually is! Obviously all places have nicer areas and less nicer areas... focus on the positive. :) Indian Square = awesome, though.
Awesome video!!! I was surprised how awesome Jersey City really is. Not being from the area, I was always told that Jersey stinks, but Jersey City is awesome. A nice break from the madness that is Manhattan.
I love and miss Jersey City
