instead of sloppy, try using the term control tackling. nfl players indeed hit harder, but, they need pad to hit that hard. because pad, make u feel invincible. textbook tackle,u need to dive down below, and to do that, u need to risk ur head getting injured if something happen, while nfl, they wear helmet. with helmet, the risk of getting injury is far less than without helmet. ive heard once from nfl players that rugby players are crazy because they played without protective gear

great tackler and he have very nice skill of tackling, but the point that he wear pad doesnt change. pad let u hit harder but the main reason why pad is being used is to protect. so, af player feels more invincible and they can just do a 100 meter rush and then tackle their opponent. in rugby u cant do that, because there is no protective gear. if someone as big as jonah lomu running to u at full speed, u just cant charge towards him. it wil be stupid to that.

There are aspects of the game where Chabal has greatly improved. Since he played at # 4, I found his game improved greatly in the line out. I still prefer him at # 8 where he should be the perfect cover for Harinordoquy. Potentially Chabal can free a lot of spaces. He and Harinordoquy are probably the most versatile # 8 for France right now. I admire Picamole strength but he needs to stop up a level or two with Stade Toulousain and he is not as instrumental in the line outs.
