for the release mechanism, you should have got the coaster thing to hit a piece of knex that goes down to the bottom, and then get it to unblock the gear thing for the launch mechanism, and then if that piece is elasticated or spring loaded, it would come out, letting it come out without you doing it

@misterjoshHFI The small tires around the elastic is purely to stop the bands from getting caught on the carriage as the ride drops, without these the bands get tangled and stops before reaching the bottom.

@latest0707 so they are just used as weights to make the rubberbands fall away from it when the ride is going up? pretty clever, it would still be cool to have something thah would spool up with an elastic cord so it wouldnt get in the way, and more weight on the section that drops so you wouldnt need the tires.

@braedenb12 I use an ac motor which is more powerful then the battery powered ones, I also use some gears to give i that little extra torque to lift the carridge up.

How did you get the brake system??

@martynis5 There is not a "brake system" of such but I just made the track that the carridge slides on wider that very tiny bit near the bottom so it has more friction and then slows the carridge down enoughd so it all just dosent fall to peices when it hits the bottom. I also added some rubber bands to the carridge to give the carridge that little more resistance to stop before it hits the bottom.
