A SHIMANO 130 IS NOT A STANDUP FISHING REEL!!!!! The guy was off balance the whole time!!! You can standup fish a smaller shimano and be more balanced and apply the same or even more drag!!!!! If someone has to grab you from behind it means you are not strong enough to fish that setup on your own!!!!!

My penns are ok. I don't have a international but I have a couple. They are good reels and pretty maitenence free. But my favorite reels are acurates and avets

i mean ive never had a problem with the tiagra's but i just think japanese made reels are crap compared to american made , i love my penns alot ,people are doubting them but i will vouch for them.

kwdiver93 They are good reels but the american made reels are slightly better. I have a shimano tld star and a calcutta 400b. They are both good reels but I prefer my avets for sure

shimano tiagra .their gearing for their 130 isnt as big as the penn internationals 80vsw,in fact the penns 80 gearing is 49% larger on low gear and 58% larger on high gear,shoouldnt use japanese made reels look at avet,penn,or tough tackle bluefin tuna.

Thats a nice fish next time use spectra backing and you'll have better line capacity. You can also use smaller reels

there wasnt a shot in hell u guys were landing that fish...did about everything u could - that was something big... very big.... skipper really couldnt have done much much that fish was diving and nothing was stopping it lol - very nice video man

I often wonder if big squid come up and grab the tuna and headback to the crushing depths. Perhaps this is eveidence of such behaviour. broadbill comes to mind too.
