Wow!---Super rare and collectible... and crazy good. I have the model 9s smaller brother---a nicely tweaked Marantz 8B operating in triode with GE 6CA7 tubes. I'll never part with it.
Beautiful gear. I once had a 7C and Model 9s, but a Korean collector waved way too much money in my face for me to resist. I kept the 10b tuner, but it's gone now too. I still have lots of cool stuff however.
dam that was awesome , awesome gear and table, really apreciated that close upt too seriously that was great,, mostg people dont do that and you are left wondering wtf. so thankyou cheers
@mcintoshamps Hi. Yes, it's a 1964 Mc275. In my opinion perfect with Klipsch hi-efficiency spkrs like my La Scala's: GREAT mid/hi frequencies response (horns....). With those speakers M9's are anyway ok, but the sound is a little bit too "open". Marantz is perfect with lo-efficiency speakers (AR3, Rogers, Dahlquist DQ10) with GREAT deep low frequencies transient response and very detailed mid/hi. But a friend of mine owns M9's & K/Horns with PERFECT results.... MC30 are great amps! TKS
@mcintoshamps in a comparison A/B with same pre, source and speakers, the Macs sounds a little bright to me. I've sold my macs (Mc-275 Comm.Ed., C-220). IMHO, Marantz, Dynaco and Manley sounds closer to real sound, natural human voice, etc. It is a matter of taste, obviously. I have friends that love them.
Hello. You can find Salt Peanuts also in Charlie Parker's - The Complete Savoy and Dial Studio Recordings 1944-1948 remastered CD Box. Thanks for your interest in my hi-fi system. Kind Regards. Tony
Yes. Expensive in the 60's, expensive now. It is a "same family owner" system. When my father bought the Marantz 9 pair in the 1964, a single amp was priced in Italy like a Fiat 500 small car (480.000 lire).....
Great vintage equipment with a nice sounding 125 with that Rabco. I have never heard that tonearm played before. Or is that your R2R that is running "Salt Peanuts"? Anyways, I absolutely enjoyed it. You are making me want to get more vintage audio stuff which will just make my wife more whacky!! I guess I could get myself in trouble with other hobbies, but hey, vinyl and tubes are my passion!!
Incredible!!!thanks for posting this!

Model 9s go can go for 15 g a pair. With that preamp i bet that system is worth 20,000.
