  • Wonderful! Keep up the great work of keeping CTW's memory alive. But can I ask you: whatever happened to MOONLIGHT which you once had on YouTube? Surely also one of CT's greatest hits!

    Peace

  • cant hear enough beautiful

  • I think this song by CTW could be the best love song ever written. It reminds me of my first love. I love all types of music from Jolson, to Bowie. However, this man was something special. Last year my friend tragically died. We went through college together and had a great laugh, she was as mad as a brush. It hurt so much to lose her, she was a real gem. However every time I hear Open University it washes the pain away. It was as if CTW wrote it just for her. Jim

  • @ravgoodspeed Never made it to university myself but the joy seeing my daughter go!!!!! One of my favourite CTW songs. Definitely songs for whole of your life. No one can compare.

  • this lovely song brings tears to my eyes

  • knockout scalpsie cheers

  • Thanks "scalpsie" for yet another beautiful video.C.T.W was and still is one of me and my twin brothers favourite artistes, ever since 1973 when we first heard him on our mum & dads old transistor radio, whilst on our summer holidays in Southwold, on the suffolk coast. I still remember listening to England V The West Indies so I know its the right year! Pax to all from Ian Smith.Xxx.

  • it's amazing

  • "And there's no consolation in that time will heal the pain".

  • This is my favourite of all songs by this most

    wonderful singer/songwriter.

For Kaynie, the love of my life, whose love I

    lost so many years ago.

Thanks for the post, haven't heard it for some

    time.

Now I'll play it non- stop until I go to bed.

  • You have great taste in music, as I'm sure you had in your choice of girl friends. I got this played on a late night love show lately and the DJ rang me back. He had people txting him to say they were in tears because it brought back memories of lost love...What pain there is when you think of those times but what joy for having known the person in the first place. And as for Clifford, as you said he was a wounderful songwriter and a great man.

    Homethoughts1.

  • makes me feel so good luv ucliff

  • This song sent chill down to my spine!Haven't heard this one for more than 3 decades! It's a blessing I found this site, and CTW fans, open your door, let me in . Currently I'm residing in Jakarta Indonesia

  • Much appreciated and so delighted you have enjoyed so much...thank you for kind words.Peace.

  • what a song what a loss what a legacy his music should be compulsory in schools

  • Many thanks for your kind comments and thoughts ...enjoy always.Peace.

  • This is an absolutely one of 'a must song' to listen. Thanks scalpsie!

  • Very much appreciate your kind sincere comments. Thank you. Peace. :)

  • I blame you scalpsie. Before I discovered CTW my mornings were up, breakfast and out.

Now I can't start the day without my Clifford fix!! It's 8.48 and here I am, when I should be dealing with workmen trapped in CTW heaven!! I've given them a set of keys. They can let themselves in. Now back to the music.......

  • Brilliant comment my friend ... I'm still laughing loudly ... wicked!!! So,so happy that you are enjoying so much ! Peace!

  • Sorry, but there is no justice out there.. Why the hell were we all deprived of a man whose talents knew no bounds? The more I hear him, the more I want to cry for a sad world which has lost its way.. Come on, Clifford fans - unite - and let's at least enjoy the fabulous legacy he left us.. :-(

  • Sorry - I meant to say "and combined with the video of my part of the world (Derbyshire) in the production, well.. Superb"

Methinks Tony needs a new keyboard/brain or both!!! LOLOL! Soz, Martin!

  • This now HAS to be my favourite video. An absolute masterpiece.. I MUST record this myself this year - I have such good vibes - the words are so profound and mean so much to me. No other song makes me so watery-eyed, and combined with the video of my part of the production, well.... Superb, Martin :-) RIP - ALL the lovely people who have departed this world; not least of all Clifford. I am so sorry I never had the privilege of meeting you. You were indeed 'The Master.' Requiescat in Pace..

  • It is a truly heartfelt song and one which fits most occasions when a loss is felt.Peace!

  • Like Sir Oliver, this is probably the one i´d choose to be my favourite Clifford T.Ward song. It is simply beautiful and in my opinion one of the finest love songs ever written. The lyrics and melody are a combination of a master at work and Clifford was the ultimate songwriter, England´s finest.....enjoyed the video very much and especially Cathy and Heathcliff from Wuthering Heights. What a coincidence, my favourite book as well, wonderful, thank you

  • If I were forced to choose - this would be pehaps my most beloved Clifford T. Ward song. Just wonderful and totally timeless, romantic stuff! A masterpiece, no doubt whatsoever!

  • I wonder if you also have "Song for Susan" and to share it with all of us.

    Best regards,

    ZD

  • I think I have a copy of 'A Song For Susan' - will look it out for you, over the weekend.

  • Gosh.....eventually I can enjoy this beautiful song. Millions of thanks for posting. It reminds me of my youth, when most of things were unaffordable to a poor young boy like me.

    Peace from Java island

  • WOW! So far away yet ... isn't music wonderful. Peace my friend. :)

  • Absolutely agree. Cannot imagine life without music. And the web & Youtube, of course.

  • Thanks Scalpie. Far away yes but am actually a Colcestrian, born and bred in Colchester, love your videos my friend.

  • I have to say it again - fabulous and beautiful.. I am overwhelmed.

  • Never get tired of thanking you Tony. So grateful you enjoy this song and video so much ... someday, someday. Pax!

  • Many of the 'Jane Eyre' scenes were filmed at Haddon Hall, about 5 miles from me, in the Derbyshire Dales.. Also, my surname is Eyre.. It's a small world, as they say.. :-)

  • I wondered just how long it'd take you to notice ... Haddon Hall features heavily and when you go through the archive footage of various films made of her work you'll see repeated references and scenes set amidst it ... now there's a pilgrimage for you!!

The surname ... how coincidentally strange( in a very nice way, mind you) is that ... oooohhhhh!!! take care and thanks for revisiting Tony! Peace my friend! :)

  • I keep watching this video again and again, and it has to be by far one of the best on the whole site. The music combines absolutely perfectly with the beautiful, emotionally dramatic scenes. This is one song I HAVE to record as soon as I can get the equipment together. Told my voice is somewhere between Clifford's and Gary Barlow, although that may flatter me - *blush*... Not too long until you find out. I sang regularly when I lived in Morley, near Leeds. It got me through a bad year...

  • I ech your comment, homethoughts1 - watch my profile, too. I am crazy about Clifford's recordings, and will be posting quite a few in the coming weeks.

    Love and peace to all.

    Tony..

  • Hi Martin, well it looks as if your work is really starting to be noticed. Some long lost CTW fans are finding your posts very special. This song is very special and personel to me so thank you for bringing it to life. Just look at he number of people who have viewed all the songs you have posted over the last few months, thousands have and will continue to enjoy your labour of love for a long time to come. Kind regards and love to all.

Pat and the gang in Carlow.

  • What can I say Pat?I am so pleased that in some small way the video has touched you and has a special place in your memory and feelings ... I guess that's how so many CTW tracks make so many feel ... the right words penned at the right moment. As always I REALLY value your opinions -as you know- and thank you for your support and appreciation.Heartfelt appreciation and gratitude ... thank you. Pax!

  • I could not bring all of my CDs to the USA with me last year and I cannot get back to the UK until June so the songs you have put on here are priceless. Thank you Martin, I think all the epithets have been used up, but I just want to echo every one of them. Beautiful.

  • You're a star ... I was being patient and just knew you'd tune it!! DELIGHTED! So happy you got so much enjoyment from it. Peace and care!

  • That is an absolute masterpiece, and has made me very watery-eyed. The words are full of sagacity, yet put across with the simple beauty only Clifford knew how to achieve. I am looking for the sixth star for the rating, but can't find it. I hope five will suffice!

    Pax!

    Tony..

  • WOW! I am so delighted with your views ... so pleased that once more a beautifully crafted song full of heartfelt sincerity has meant so much to you.Viewing and appreciating the songs is ample reward. I DO thank you immensely. Pax!

  • Many thanks Shelley ... so pleased you got some enjoyment from it ... thenk you. Happy the sun is shining! Pax!

  • Outstanding Martin. Another emotional song that evokes strong responses with your excellent work. Once again, a genuine sincere thanks to all your work on introducing a forgotten legend of music to YouTube. Your friend from the the new generation..james

  • I'm so pleased that you mentioned 'new generation'... all worthwhile! Many, many thanks and so delighted it stikes the right emotional chords ... thank you Jmaes! Pax! :)

  • The way of love a beautiful song from the superb escalator album. Cliff's final album for charisma (cliff and his songs have charisma in abundance). Charisma delayed release 6 months until march 1975. Cliff was given the big star treatment at the record launch in a London hotel. This made him uncomfortable and nervous. He was chain smoking and angry at the delay. He revealed his new album no more rock n roll featuring up in the world would be released in autumn 1975. Good old Cliff and Scalpsie!

  • Once more you add so much to the music and video...these little snippets give such an insight to that moment in time...wonderful!VERY much appreciated and many, many thanks for your efforts in this odyssey! Pax!

  • This is lovely Martin - thanks for sharing such a beautiful song-straight in2 fav and of course 5 ***** !

  • Many thanks as always ... always appreciate you listening! Thank you!Peace!

  • love this first time I heard it, visuals are great thx Pax

  • Thank you!Hope it won't be the last time played! Thanks for your continued support and valued comments...Peace!

  • These are just the greatest...How is it possible that CTW hasnt been given the proper exposure? Are we seriously saying that other people have better back catalogues than this? OK at times Clifford's music can get a little odd, but there are so many classics, and this song...wow! Thanks for the videos, fantastic

  • Proper exposure? Trying desperately hard to rectify this (hence this series of vids) and show a new generation the true beauty behind some of the simplest,complex,melodic,beautiful,sentimental,tender,...well,you get the idea! Many thanks for your kindness in commenting ... very much appreciated. Keep enjoying!! Pax!

  • Gorgeous Martin. Such beautiful lyrics and as usual you have done the song justice. Clifford did write some gems.... one day very soon he will get the credit he so richly deserved.

  • Always the early bird! Many thanks Cass ... kind comments and yeah another CTW 'gem'. Glad it still gives enjoyment.Big smiles! Pax!
