I n 1975 i took the ferry from prince rupert to skagway driving a pickup with a slide n camper. From skagway you drive east into canada to connedt to fhe alaska highway where you turn north and back into alaska. The ferry does not go to anchorage so you would have to have your vehicle with you or fly from juneau to get to anchorage. Over the years have been on most of the original ferrys.
