@sirwolfit . Myra Hess , Clifford Curzon and Moura Lympany bring back wonnderful memories ! I have all three of them playing different works by various composers
@Offshoreorganbuilder Her article in Wikipedia (q.v.) gives full details of her life. I have a treasured memory of seeing her at the EmpireTheatre in Newcastle on Tyne in the 1950s. She played Cross Hands Boogie at the concert grand and then went over to her "other piano", an upright with the front panel removed, to play Black and White Rag.
@ChristopherSyn1 Was she at the Academy of Music overseas or here in Australia - or both :-)) A great loss not to be able to see her [playing in real life. Far too many good musicians have gone to that great concert hall in the sky - I guess they are having a wonderful time, each outdoing the other - all in good fun, naturally.
@steinwaygrande1. So very sorry, it is squirell1952 who made awful comment not you. I do apologize. Thanks so much for posting.

Apparently she studied with Tobias Matthay who also taught, among others, Myra Hess, Clifford Curzon and Moura Lympany.
