  • Yeah, thks for the lesson, and yes, you're totally hot..!!!

  • Thanks for the lessons. You're cute by the way. ^_^

  • Thank you for the lessons.

  • wonderful series thank you very much for this. I shall begin learning as soon as possible. :)

  • My first Chinese teacher explained the character for hao - good this way. She said the left part represents a woman. You can imagine it as a woman kneeling because women were subservient in ancient China or it can represent a woman's breast.

The right part of the character represents a baby wrapped in a blanket, waving his or her little arms around.

So it's a woman with her baby, and for a mother to be with her baby is good.

A story always helped me to remember a character.

  • the left radical is woman and the right character is son. And it is said that Mother and son together is very good. I heard this version from 北京人们

  • the sound is out of sync with the lips just like in a real kung fu movie lol great !!!!

  • Thanks for lessons !

  • Your ni... is missing a hook. xD

  • Where? I do not think so.

  • In 你, at the bottom of the fifth stroke. It's a little darker at the bottom. I think you drew the hook but since you were writing such large characters, with a marker, it doesn't show up well on camera.

  • don't bother wasting your time with Wufnu, he just has a small video card

  • WOW! Your French is perfect also!

And also, it's EXcellent, not AXcellent =)

Sorry, I don't mean to offend you, it's just I wanted to point that out.

  • If you didn't fix your audio problem yet: remember to close every application that you don't need before you make a video. This will give the computer more processing power to work on your video instead of wasting it on other programs. Hopefully this will sync the sound to the video.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I have fixed the problems for the later videos :)

  • hurray... thanx ..

  • what does mei ren wo ai ni mean?

  • wo ai ni means i love u

  • stingy1sam is correct. And "mei ren" means beautiful person, it's for describing women. So the sentence means "beautiful person I love you."

  • oh how sweet one of my friends sent it to me and i wasnt sure what he ment thats y i'm startin to learn chinese and i'm really enjoying it :D also he siad seksek and im not sure what that is too x

  • seksek? never heard of that... if it is chinese, it must be cantonese. Mandarin doesnt sound like that.

  • mei ren means nice girl

  • mei ren means = beautiful person/woman

  • Hey thanks! I love your videos.

  • I want to go to Hong Kong in bout 2 years :P I so want to learn chinese... By the way, mandarin chinese? isnt that more difficult thmk?

  • You mean comparing Mandarin to Cantonese? I do not speak Cantonese, so I cannot answer you this question :p

  • I'm sure most of hong kong speaks cantonese instead of mandarin... But dont trust my word, i might be wrong.

Same, I only know one word in cantonese for sure and that is NEI, meaning NI from mandarin.

  • Thank you.. i am very into chinese language..

before i didn't have chance to learn it..

    thanks a lot..

  • I'm glad you find my lessons helpful. Keep it up and enjoy learning Mandarin Chinese!

  • Ni hao means "You good" and is used as a greeting but it doesn't mean "Hello" per se.

  • I agree with you. But translate word by word is not a good way to learn Mandarin Chinese.

  • That seem to be the popular theory but I think that goes on the false assumption that a student can't learn to understand the differences in grammar. For me I'd just rather learn word for word and force myself to learn the nuances of the language.

  • By the way. You are too beautiful for words. Siiiiiigh.

  • FYI it also means hello....

  • Can you repost lessons 4 and 16. Great lessons.

  • It is a pity you have removed lessons 4 and 16.

  • 你好! 你是一位優秀老師。 我學會中文在相當平穩的節奏,并且這為初學者是優秀的! 加油。

  • hey thank u very much 4 posting!duìbùqî but its "nì" not "nî". záijiàn

  • How different is Mandarin from Taiwanese? My girlfriend insist that pronounciation is not the same.

  • She's right. The pronounciation are not the same. Taiwanese is a dialect.

  • No prob! I'm glad you like my lessons.

  • A little question is it cantonese or mandarin.?

  • It's Mandarin.

  • cool stuff, if your going to do just one word, could you break it down slightly. Like "ni3" means "you" and "hao3" means "good".

    Thanks!

  • Thanks for your comment! I'll pay more attention to it :))
