  • My 1991 twin turbo had a lifter that clicked on and off for 40K miles. They all tick! I had the motor rebuilt and it is almost done. No big deal!

  • Would Lucas HD oil stabilizer do harm to this engine type?

  • why does it sound like a dirt bike wen u rev it?

  • Sorry to say, but if those hydraulic lifters beginning to make noise all the time,

you just have to exchange them....

  • a seafoam treatment fixed this problem for me

  • Did u get the issue fixed yet? Mine is doing the same thing.

  • Yeah, run thicker oil and use your car more. Your lifters will tick in any car and can become loud if you don't drive it often.

  • Nice amount of fuel :D

  • theres 24 lifters in a 300zx engine they cost 10 dollars a piece but the labor is expensive and you should only get it worked on at a placed that has a grade A (don't go to elite motor sport in pomona california they're complete rip offs

  • No need to change any lifters or adjust them.... (Dont think you can) Try a bottle of Marvel Myster Oil, just put it in with your oil. It should quiet them down a bit. Or try a thicker oil, maybe 15w50.

  • hmmm sounds like a lifter, or your valve adjustment is out. nothing seriose, just a bitch to work on these engines.

  • no need to change the lifters, just do a valve adjustment.. and yeah change you're oil more often, consider a higher weight.

  • need to change your lifters...and oil more often lol..
