Living in Bulgaria, which in some aspects really is the asshole of Earth, makes me so angry sometimes! I know that I will never be able to see great bands like TGA...at least not in their best years. I couldn't afford to go to England when they were playing there, but I am saving from now for the next European destination. I am not missing it for the world this time!

Everyone is introduced to it, be it via the radio, a TV show, a friend...as long as they recognize it's good music, it doesn't really matter. I heard about this from a Youtube comment on Casablanca clip. Someone else might have heard it on a TV show. It doesn't mean one of is is less a fan than the other, or that neither of us is a 'true fan'. Still a legitimate fan. There's no right or wrong way to find good music.

@nazzy84 Like I said Chuck is not my type of show, but as long as the bands are getting paid for there royalties thats fine. Since sometimes with the big networks they will use a song but it wont be till months later when the band finally gets there royalties.

I might describe myself as a one woman man too. I didn't feel like these were all different girls from any one person's past, but I suppose it could be. Either way, I found something I could relate to in each verse, and empathized with all of the first. And the end is just moving.

I hate it when kids wanna keep music exclusive. Music should be shared and should be about expression...not exclusion and greediness. There's this little thing called "music supervision" which is what Chop Shop Music does. Chop Shop was started by Alexandra Patsavas (Chuck's music supervisor). TV is quickly becoming the new radio, and music supervisors are the DJs. In order to feature a band's song on a television show, the show must first have the band's consent via contract. GA knew their song would be on Chuck and knew that it would bring them more fans. That's why they agreed to it. It was GA's decision, not Chuck fans'.
@punkj7 Chuck is a show on NBC about a normal guy who becomes a spy by chance. Its about how he has to grow up, become brave, lie to family, and falls for his partner. (Sarah!!) It's a hilarous and cute comedy/action/romance show on monday nights. You should check it out because that's where I've gotten all my good music from.
Interestingly, I never knew the meaning of the song until I paid close attention to the lyrics. The day I paid close attention to it was the day the girl I liked gave me the cold shoulder. I look forward to the day I can find my solace and move on; the same way, Brian found his and moved on! *sigh*
Absolutely awesome...GA and Deer Tick are two of the best bands in many years. Unfortunately, the days of album rock band are long past. Keep it up GA. So impressive.
What does it matter what brought people to the song? If it brings ore attention to GA, it's all good. Great Band, great music that more people will listen to. That's the point.
Chuck did not bring me here I've been listening to this band ages before Chuck promoted this song and it saddens me that people are posting crap like "Chuck brought me here!". This is an amazing band and it deserves better comments and appreciation..
@hjf11393 Why does it matter if someone heard this song in tv a show? Its no different than hearing about it at a concert, in the mens room, at Walmart, in a bar, or at a friends house? You should be happy that a show like Chuck is playing good songs and helping to further a good bands career. Also, how are people supposed to hear about their music? I thumbesd up you, but I have to say honestly that i did find out about gaslight anthem randomly. My friend and I went to a free concert they did with New Politics, and that's the only reason I like those two bands.

Interestingly, I never knew the meaning of the song until I paid close attention to the lyrics. The day I paid close attention to it was the day the girl I liked gave me the cold shoulder. I look forward to the day I can find my solace and move on; the same way, Brian found his and moved on! *sigh*

Absolutely awesome...GA and Deer Tick are two of the best bands in many years. Unfortunately, the days of album rock band are long past. Keep it up GA. So impressive.

Chuck did not bring me here I've been listening to this band ages before Chuck promoted this song and it saddens me that people are posting crap like "Chuck brought me here!". This is an amazing band and it deserves better comments and appreciation..

@hjf11393 Why does it matter if someone heard this song in tv a show? Its no different than hearing about it at a concert, in the mens room, at Walmart, in a bar, or at a friends house? You should be happy that a show like Chuck is playing good songs and helping to further a good bands career. Also, how are people supposed to hear about their music? Randomly pick up a CD at the store blindfolded? Is that what all the cool "indie" kids are doing these days?

I thumbesd up you, but I have to say honestly that i did find out about gaslight anthem randomly. My friend and I went to a free concert they did with New Politics, and that's the only reason I like those two bands.
