Great Flight Paul. You picked a nice plane to start getting into 3D. Im sure you've come along way since this video! Thanks Tim for sharing Pauls flight! Thumbs Up! ~~Robert.
@RCRedBaron Thanks Robert, I just picked up a smaller AJ Slick so I better log some sim time this Winter so I'm ready for Spring! I'll always be a Warbird guy at heart but these 3d planes really do help hone your flying skills... especially that rudder thumb!!!
@PatBALEX Thanks Pat, I'll try and convince Tim he needs to get a 3D plane! I just picked up a smaller 3DHobbyShop Slick for Spring so I better fire up the sim and get some of this Winter rust off my thumbs.
I forgot it is a good idea to replace the stock control rod attachment system used for the rudder and elevator. My elevator linkage snapped and I lost my plane. Use the easy metal easy connectors on the control horns instead. Maybe Horizon fixed this issue with the newer planes and maybe they fixed the landing gear problem. A lot of people have had problems with that. I really loved the graphics and how this plane flew. Have fun with it.
This was one of my planes too. It flys great but like someone said watch out for the landing gear. You need to beef up the area where it screws into the body. Use 1/16 plywood and use 1/4 inch basswood to build up the frame area inside the plane. If you can try to find a lighter weight landing gear with more flex to it. If you don't you will destroy the plane. That is a flaw with the plane.
That was my 3rd airplane, amazing plane that I still fly every time I go to the field. Had it for 3 years so far and man is it fun. You'll love it, just beware that the landing gear bolt area of the fuselage is very weak ;)
