The thing I like about Opeth they just create music, without knowing too much of theory. I mean, theory is good and all but I think it just limits you.

I know some of the basics only, but I create riffs and chords, based on wether I think they sound cool or not.

@NikkElektrik Well still I dont think they capture the atmosphere that Opeth does, and yeah I really hate the keyboard, it's annoying, instead of making an atmosphere it is just there playing it just like some sort of eletronic music thing, plus I tried listening to "In the Name of God" because the song had that funny name and I ended up with a big big headache...I couldn't stand the voice and the keyboard anymore, I kinda like a Nightmare to Remember and As I Am, besides that not much into it..

I haven't heard many Dream Theater songs though, although I would like to get into it for real, I'm expecting to at one point or another to listen to a whole album of theirs without stopping, perhaps that way I will get into the sound and although I dislike their 2 members I have stated I admire Petrucci, he is a damn nice guitarist and their bassist and ex drummer are also very good!!! Shame Portnoy left them really.
