  • i thought you said fucker not footguard.

  • hey, Prime92 i watched a slideshow vid of the 1/144 Scale HG RX-78-2 Gundam Ver.G30th on youtube and the uploader said that, he (either hand-painted or) spraypainted the plastic sword a flourescent red so you should probably try it as i will when i get the 2009 ver.

  • If this is how it's going imagen what the 40th annivirsry model will be like

  • can u pull off the left hand, prime?

  • HA! Prime that full plastic beam saber pwnd you :D

  • my v fin is so loose and wont stay on!

  • witch one shuld i get 01 09 or rg prime if you can recamend one plz and thank you

  • Could you switch the beam rifles? I mean I really like the 2009's look, but I agree with you on the handle thing. It would be nice if it could hold the side handle. I'm still debating on which one to get myself. I dunno... I'm thinking of getting both the HGUC of the Gundam and Char's Zaku II and then get the RG's. What do you think?

  • can you swap the hands and give the sabers to the new one so it could be a little better?

  • @henriquebio Hey! My Commentary is not an Spam! Please Respond!

  • i'd honestly rather have the white plastic than one clear pink beam but the white one and the beams together would have been nice (i can do so much more with the white plastic one)

  • i'd honestly rather have the white plastic than one clear pink beam but the white one and the beams together would have been nice

  • maybe the head means we need to buy both and change the head to make it bot perfect,^_^.

  • The only thing that sucks is the lack of a second open hand I like to pose my gunpla with two weapons or both beam sabers. Other than that it's a great kit. You can also use 1/144 trans am raiser beams for the rx-78

  • hey prime92, do you think that i should get a hg 1/144 30th anniversary rx-78 gundam?

  • bandi cant make up ther minds with the color

  • nice! very classic^^

  • the 30th edition dide promote the 1/1 scale. thats why they came out with it.

  • I think that the 30th anniversary one was to promote the 1/1 statue in Odaiba, which was a big success and a hit, and was not intentionally designed to be a movable and versatile model, but a non-posable statue to recreate that feeling...

  • I really like the simplicity of the 2001 version.

  • i think the 2009 one is made to be like the 1/1 scale one

  • what colour did you use to do the panel lining on the 2009 RX-78-2 gundam.

  • Thanks for the comparison video!

I feel inclined to buy both the earlier HGUC version of the RX-78-2 and the 30th Anniversary version. I'm thinking of getting the HG G Armor set of the RX-78-2 instead of the normal HGUC kit.

  • I have the 30th Anniv version and I'm not really happy with it. I kinda want my RX-78 to match the simplicity of the HGUC GM kit. I think I'm gonna get the older kit too. Nice review! Please review more HGUC kits. THANKS!

  • the new 2009 looks a bit cooler but it really has some sucky parts

can you put the 2001's hands on the new 2009???

and can you put parts of the shields together???

  • As far as I know all HGUC parts are interchangable, though with the more recent kits there's been more than just a polycap to hold the hand....I don't know for sure without trying it, honestly.

  • i like the 2001 more i like it cartoony

  • I say that the 2009 version is more detailed b/c of the molding technology improves over time.

  • by looks, bandai made the 2009 better.

by everything else, they made it worse

  • LOLL the gun made me lmao xD

  • i think 2009 but i like the core fither. god damit its so hard to choose

  • i lol'd when you said foot, i guess cause it sounds like fuck gaurds hahah

other then that your channel is great i keep coming back to check out which model to buy next. thanks for puting your time into to making these videos.

  • Wow man, this is a comparision with the HGUC and the one that comes with weapons, I'm pretty sure Bandai designed these weapons to be in the same design as the model itself, they just made some bad decisions about it.

  • I like the comparison video very neat, but could you and anyone else viewing this video please come view my first gundam model ever and rate, also subscribe becuase i would like tips on how i could better my work :)

  • I just noticed that the 30th anniv. Gundam looks alot like MG Gundam 2.0 with more panel lines...

  • Looks more like OYW MG. The 2.0 looks more like the original HGUC TBH

  • @Geoxile yeah i mean the HG g30th(2009 version) looks more like Gundam version 2.0 head and articulation(almost) fused with Gundam version one year war's panel line

  • Just a little correction: The 2009 is not HGUC, just a HG.

  • Good review/comparison. I got the 01 version around when it first came out, but l got it at Walmart (you know, back when they actually sold Gundam kits; ah, those were the days...) and it turned out to be missing some of the stuff in the Japanese version. Which sucked. The new one looks nice, but overall, I think I like the 01 just a little bit better... So, who else thinks the head from the new one looks a lot like the head of the MG RX-78-2? (The original "1.0" version)

  • Please note that the 2009 is NOT HGUC - it's actually known as HG Ver. G30th.

The 2009 version is based on the 1/1 scale Gundam statue that was displayed in Odaiba, Tokyo for the past 2 months. That's why it has a lot of panel lines. A friend of mine got me a special version of it, namely the "Green Tokyo Gundam Project", which has a 1/144 Amuro Ray and a blue base for the Gundam. However it doesn't come with any weapons at all, which will make it seem even less preferable than the previous two.

  • the g30th is awesome in every way except for the white beam saber and the fact that only the right hand can wield weapons

  • Hmm,cant make up of which i should buy.Maybe both.Yea,im agree with you,Prime, they should change the head XD

  • that is the most panel lining I have seen on a gundam

  • the 2009 body is more fluid.

    The 2001 body looks blocky.

So I would go for the 2009 boddy.

    Swap hands from those two.

And give the pink beams to the 2009 version.

Then you'd have about the perfect rx78 gundam I think.

  • the 2001 one is actually the original

  • big is good

  • great review.i'm just going to get both and try to fix newer one to look better then it already is.fix the legs some and change weapons around, all that good stuff xD

  • I'm planning to get that kit next week at the New York Anime Festival on the 25th and 26th. Its all in the details! wow a plastic bean sabers!? Very good review on your 1 take video!

  • such a disappointment... i have the old RX 78-2 and was thinking about buying the 30th version but i'm happy with, mine.. i don't care too much for the hammer with the little extra movement, ahh its just ok, i can pose it the same way. if i am gonna buy another RX-78-2 it would be MG ka ver. or just the normal one.

  • looking at them further. The 2001 version was more anime acurate (Hence, No panel lines) while the 2009 version is ment to look more like the statue (all the panel lines and such) Or atleast, thats what i think.

  • And the barrel does to

  • The 2001 version looks like the Perfect gundam unarmored.

  • Does the 2001 version have two stickers for the eyes, or just one?

  • Panel lining makes everything better.

  • The 30th G one somewhat looks like the GP01 color schemes... That's pretty cool :D

  • i got the 2009 sd gundam

  • i would have gotten the 2009 but i got the 2001 with the G- fghter

  • No Beams suck, but if you're collecting multiple kits, you're bound to have extras in the future. So I wouldn't decide on which kits to get solely because of the beams.

The core fighter is a really nice accessory but IMO the chain ball is much more cooler to have. It'd be awesome to make some dioramas with the RX-78-2 smashing some Zakus up with the chain ball.

  • Prime92, would you rather have a anime accurate model or a more proportioned realistic one?

  • After wachting your video. I decide to get one too!!!

  • i just found out i got ripped off.

I bought the old kit at a anime-con. It was a Europe version or something. The thing is i got no bazooka and core fighter which sucks.

  • The funny thing is the 2001 looks more like the gundam from the show seeing as the show was so old

  • wow... thats lame... i think its best to get both... lol... i actually like what you had done with the head swapping cuz it looked so much like the O.Y.W MG... i think ill do that... get both of em

  • Hmm, I got the 30th G one blindly thinking it was better, maybe I should have done some research. Well, when I receive it, I'm gonna use it as my paint test dummy anyway.

  • Im fairly certain that Bandai has de-standardized clear pieces on 1/144 kits

  • Nice comparison review, I almost took it for a joke a plain white beam saber for their 30th anniversary Bandai really blew it on that one. Hope it is a nice build and damn that many panel lines. ^^

  • I think the 01' head looked great on the 09' body. But.... I didn't think the 09' head looked that great on the 01' body.

  • i was very very pleased with the 30th anny one EXCEPT the left hand, what the hell no open hand at all?? I mean i know 1 tigger finger hands would be pushing it for but real no dual weilding beam sabers and no clear beams? what the hell bandai ):

  • Hey it is a HG...don't complain...If you want all that get aMG or better a PG!

  • My friend jon has the 2001 version.

  • intermeresting

  • hey prime i would like to ask is the RX78-2 gundam (2001 version) the european brand or the japanese brand cos my one was a european brand and it didn't come with the bazooka or the core fighter which is peculier

  • Japanese brand.

  • maybe they were celebrating 30 years of full plastic beam sabers?

  • @KogashiwaKai Bandai=recycle plastic

    and save more clear beams

  • wow...the new one looks much better and it looks more proportional...less like a toy and more like a model kit...just like how it should be.

  • i want one for free can?

  • my 2001 didn't com with that menny accacories! *sad face*.............. maby its a diverent version?

  • panel lines for me!

  • 2001 for sure...a bandai failure again

  • The 2001 looks like the anime, and the 2009 looks like if gundams were real.

  • Unlike the skull of a baby, I will always have a soft spot for Rx-78-2.

  • I really like the comparison format!

i like the 2009 version best.

  • Nice review ^^

    I prefere the 2001 vers.

  • The 2009 Ver does not look like the OVA because it is suppose to look like the 1/1 Gundam RX-78-2 as they will celebrating the G30th anniversary...But the sad thing is,the 1/1 Gundam RX-78-2 had been dismantled T_T

  • Well come on, do you really want it up when a typhoon hits? It'll go back up in a more permanent location sometime next year, if I've heard correctly.

  • nice review

  • For me, I would prefer the 2001 ver.

  • erm prime92, i think the 2009 version's detail is based on the real scale gundam's that's why they say 30th anniversary version

  • @RakionRocks96 g30th=Gundam 30th

  • Rx78 gundam....the father of all gundams. Happy 30 years old!^^

  • in many ways i prefer the 2001 RX

  • i agree with you, jkdarlow. as u see, the 2001 version comes with two pink beams while the 2009 version doesn't. besides, it is better to have two open fists rather than one open and one closed, having a closed hand makes me feel weird somehow.

  • holly macro.... that is one crazy gundam... its just like the 2.0... could ba say this is the gundam ver 2.0 a high grade version...
