@Voltan hey being crippled for life, losing all your memory of the past year, going to live in a city that was burned down over a year ago, and not knowing it was your fault and being punished for it without even knowing why is pretty harsh once you think about it.
its like starting a new leaf but still having the problems of your past ife haunting you and not knowing why.
I've finally found it! I finished V a few weeks ago and this song really stuck with me. I've been looking for it but couldn't find it up until now. Simply amazing...
Sigh, some Gundam songs just have such power and force with them. This song, and also Dreams/ Resolution from Gundam X are very powerful. I wish my age was closer to this Era in Japanese music. Seems like the perfect mix of rock and pop
A lot of people disliked the "poor" animation quality, and the iffy mechanical design. and there were quite a few holes in the story. When taken as a whole, this one beats every single Gundam series made since (yes, i'm talking about WING and SEED). the drama of knowing that just because a character was important meant nothing when it came to living or dying. When someone died, it wasn't just some unknown redshirt like in Star Trek, it was a character that we had come to like or hate.
@wriprest I agree with on the BEATS EVERY SERIES SINCE. Though I found the Animation to be OK, it was better then 0079's animation and that was fine for me. As for the WEIRD mechanical design, I actally liked it *Yes, even the motorcycle ships*
I keep watching the last scenes just to hear this song, make me cry, make my heart beat......
i never cried on anime like i did in VG..especially in Usso's Mother Death.
the question, will Usso follow Katejina if he knew she's alive ? that's probably won't satisfy fans.... Victory Gundam FTW,, A name that my mind will never forget.
and (Ikutsumono ai wo kasanete) a name that my ears won't rest till hearing it everytime.
I have already said this few times in other videos, but I have never seriously hated a fictional character as much as I did Katejina. Her evil actions and her explanations trying to justify them made me hate her as if she was a real person.
@Kanuskiz yeah, she probably know how to make people hate her, but i really shocked when i was seeing a poll Of September of Unknown Year, Katejina was #27 in the Character Ranking List Of Reader's Votes.
For Me, i hated her when she attack Usso while he was convince her to return back, she was nearly kill him in every time..., i hate her more when She Killed Odelo, i really felt sorry for him, as he was gonna have happy time with his girlfriend if he kept alive in the last battle.
@Kanuskiz as i remember, Usso cared about every single woman in the series, even the bad ones, his role was convince them to be in his side and stop the war,
in some episode, there was a hint which prove that Usso want them like a mother and Marbet as A wife and she know that and tell him "and you want me to help you to have children ?" he was embarrassed, until she married from Oliver, he hate him for that (Jealousy).... that why his role is 13 Years Old....
listening to this song has me thinking of the final scene of the series and it's incredibly bittersweet, making me think: Wow after 153 years is this what the Universal Century ultimately comes down to? After all that time and the Century ended in bloodshed just as it had begun, never to end in peace?
@thefatman69dude The name is indeed "Ikutsu Mono Ai wo Kasanete", and is performed by Iwasaki Motoyoshi. Hopefully, this'll answer your question. XD X3
Such a happy song when so much death and misery was occurring all around the battlefield at the end. I loved it even though when I watched it years ago, I was in tears :P Thanks for posting the song!
This show had the highest body count of characters in any Gundam series so far, and future Gundam shows will probably never surpass V. It was more depressing than Z Gundam also known for dark storyline. It's ironic considering the cheerful title of Victory, uplifting opening songs and youngest Gundam hero ever (13 yrs). But it is understandable as this show was produced during the peak of Kill-'em-all Tomino's depression. BTW, this is one of my favorite Gundam tv series.
@Kanuskiz I know its like I remember watching the first episode and I said to my self oh this show is gonna be fun, its got like a 13 year old kid as the hero. and the intro is good the music was great then as the show went on I just kept saying good god. do we really need to kill all these people. i cant belive the main character wasnt in therapy by the end taking meds and shit. over all I love this show. its all about the realistic effects of war
Hahaha! You got a point there. He witnessed his mother getting beheaded and the shock caused him hold the helmet with her head inside(!) and show it to Marvet. And he also witnessed almost all deaths of Shrike Team members. But Uso was a rather mature character for his age so he overcame hatred and kept his cool at crucial moments. I think that is what saved him from a depressing ending like Kamille in Z Gundam.
@Kanuskiz especially when his mom died like right in front of his eyes. i do have to say it got to the point of just absurdity with the characters dieing. for me it was like every character introduced was gonna go it was just a matter of when. I was honestly shocked the main character survived his final fight
@thefatman69dude The only Tomino shows that surpass Victory are Dunbine (every character including main hero dies except for a fairy) and Ideon (literally every single character, good or bad, dies while taking the entire universe as collateral damage. OMG, one side character, a 7 years old kid gets beheaded by a bazooka missile in middle of battle, which is hard to watch again. Main character's girlfriend gets, not the usual "beautiful" girlfriend death, but actually quite gruesome death.
@Kanuskiz really i never watched dunbine I knew of it through models and what not but I never actually watched it. every one dies huh, ouch. lolllll a kid gets fucking beheaded by a missle, whhhhaaaattt lol. i have to see it now lol
Well, I haven't really watched neither Dunbine nor Ideon. I only saw some footage of deaths scenes in those series. Though I couldn't find Dunbine final battle on youtube (one survivor), If you wanna check Ideon death scenes, look it up on youtube. just type "Ideon death" and you'll get to see deaths of main characters and the destruction of entire universe. so depressing...(Actuall, Evangelion borrowed several ideas from Ideon).

My memory isn't so clear, but it was her who killed Odello? That bitch!
She also killed at least one member of the Shrike team babes.
Kanuskiz 1 year ago
@Kanuskiz actually more than one, she single handed them in the last 2 episodes.
the best one was one of the shrikes thought she was a friend and help them when she get near her, she burned her with her rifle.

@zerax7
yup, that was the scene I remembered. Goodness, Katejina is a real bitch.
Dunno why Uso cared about her (maybe cuz he was an innocent 13 year old boy)

@slyther2 It probably WOULD have ended in peace if Amuro had just let Axis fall, instead of "waiting for humanity to learn and grow". >:(
