  • Hey looks good...is your elbow mostly better?

  • Thanks Ian,

The elbow is feeling good, I hope to lift at the PWA championships.

    How's your training?

  • fairly good...I'll lift in the PWA championships

  • nice... i was waiting for the clip to keep goin so i can hear the weight slam to the floor.. but it ended early...

    nice video

  • @ BeRimoR ... UR WRONG BENT ARMS are for the WEAK!!!

  • I must be the weakest person in the whole world then!!!

  • lol

  • not exactly perfect technique but thats really heavy. Great!

  • form a bit weird but still good weight

  • You are very strong, but I hope that by watching that video you can see the flaws in your own technique. Have a look at your arms during 1st pull/2nd pull/top shrug - they are significantly bending, meaning you can't sufficiently transfer momentum with your body to the bar, instead you're pulling with biceps throughout the whole movement. PowerJerk looked a little dodgy and would not pass in competition setting, try getting a little lower under the bar while avoiding the press out.

  • I agree, jerk was kinda soft. However you are wrong about the arms bending. Did you see how fast that second pull was? And you say he cant transfer momentum. Some times the arms bending could be good. Some people with long arms, to help their leverages and to bring the bar to the right spot at the second pull have to bend theirs arms. Your biceps tendon could get inflamed, though, for over use.

  • If you slow the video down you can see that his arms are bending right from the start of the 1st pull. I agree with you that some lifters use this arm bending technique to "set the bar up" for their second pull, but if you look closely their arm bending is very limited when compared to the lift above. Obviously this is just an easy lookin' powerclean but I wouldn't mind seeing his technique during a maximum snatch/clean/jerk and compare it to this lift.
