we cant controle every fire training or actuale fire even when we are training to know what to do when stuff like this happens we cant controle it thats y we train so hard so when stuff like this happens we can controle the situaion
i don't get why the rig was driving thru the building. only reason i can think of is they had some hurst preconnects running off a powerplant built into the truck and didn't have a portable one.. not like they'd be transporting anyone, and it wasn't an aerial.. anyone know why it was inside?

Yes! Firefighters can be stupid, and crazy. There were a few in this video... It is obvious you arent a firefighter due to the comments on the first video. Why blame the firefighters, and not the people that build buildings side by side? If you knew anything youll know we will let a whole block burn before we risk one firefighters life. In the beginning I did not see a truck that could help out too high and an internal attack team in a building that unstable not a good idea. if they had not left their capes at the station they could have flown up and put it out. So apparently people have nothing better to do then sit around and criticize saying they could do it better...yet they dare not attempt it themselves.
Other than the fire truck in the mall, (Michigan City I believe) I see no humor in this video.
id guess that its a small voluteer department that doesnt get enough training in that first video any firefighter should know to set up a water curtain or even a manned line to protect exposures. the guy with the gas is some moron from overseas...saw it on tv what a dumbass
Theres way more than putting water on fire and it is easily visible the building wasnt safe especially the top floors. Defensive attack was their only option. There is no point on putting firefighters into a building like that if its a loss anyways. They need to sacrifice buildigns around it if they want to keep it controlled and not spread to more buildings
to answer some of the questions ive been a firefighter 6 yrs now and first clip you can clearly see the roof was unstable that as a safety we wouldnt place a fire team inside. the mall im sure was a show for setting up a display for a event i see cars for sale in the mall all the time. door guy senting himself on fire he just wasnt watching. other should have known not to pour gas on a fire.
there was no way of interior attack and it was fully involed. why they were not protecting the surrounding buildings that i dont know. not to mention who knows if there were people in the building or not if not there is no reason to go inside.
