It is trully astonishing to me how people can be so missinformed or uncapable of seeing the revolution in its whole, who it was fighting and better yet the kind of system it challenged. Andy Garcia is an excellent actor on his own. He doesn't have to copy Pacino. He's got his own style. Just see the film, "Modigliani" and you'll see. I doubt even Pacino could have done that part.

Ohter than that, It is more immoral to allow the majority of your people to die because they cant afford or ever reach a better life. First of all my friend Cuba's health system is far from advanced. Hospitals are so old they're near the point of collapsing. If you're sick then beware, because you will have to bring your own food to the hospital as well as your own sheets for the bed... I wouldn't consider that a very good experience...

Food is rationed, so don't go saying "I'm hungry today I'm eating tacos" or "I want a happy meal from McDonalds" -no-. Food rationing is the same for all no matter what, even if it means you get to eat 1 banana per day. Perhaps you would like to be inprisoned? - Then there isn't an easier way than eating a cow...since you'll get more years by killing a human being...Does that sound like a good place to live???.....

When you say shelter...I'm sorry to say there is no shelter in Cuba...And believe it or not education in Cuba is not free...You must always attend communist parades and go to activities like a ritual in which they say "Viva Fidel" even if none of them really mean it. You also have to spend some years of your life picking up vegetables and fruits/etc. from the countryside in order to "help the revolution"...imagine doing that with 12-13-14 years of age...

Cuba is not rich, it is very poor, but it is because there arent many other countries willing to do trade without taking advantage of the poorer countries. Capitalism=inequlities.

I feel quite sorry for Mr. Garcia. His work, Lost City, is but a cinematic ego trip. He demeans Mr. Cabrera Infante's novel with a poorly conceived and executed film. The movie is but a pompous show of himself, with no authentic feel, or real interest in the tragedy of the historic situation it attempts to depict. Surprisingly, I've found in all my Cuban friends and acquaintances to have the same opinion of his film. A better title should be, Lost Garcia. The final scene is rather pathetic.
