  • Having seen Ann Miller (and loved her) in so many movie musicals, it wasn't really until this video that I realized what a fantastic belter she is, in addition to being a first-rate dancer! And I wish I had legs like that!

  • When Ann Miller sings "Shooting high" (Not sure of the title) it is so amazing. Every movement is just right. The fact that it is just full front, totally belted, and on point is just perfect. The song has the right energy and she just looks like she is so enjoying it. God, that must have felt so good to deliver. I would have loved to have seen this entire show.

  • What can we say? Geniuses at work !!!

  • Ann Millers legs are the same length and Mickey Rooneys entire body...

  • genius!

  • Legs for days .... Ann Miller was the best

  • Ha Ha. Great to watch. Look at them perform. Thanks for posting.

  • it is ANN MILLER.

  • Shame the clip's sound is so low....but I love these two, and it's great to see them in all their glory-now that's showbiz, now that's talent!!

  • Ohh R.I.P. Miss. Miller. She is the best!

  • performance--and they added a dance number.

  • this is on the broadways lost treasures dvd i reccomend everyone buy this dvd its amazing!

  • Thank you ,this is great which DVD is it on there are three lost Broadway treasures DVDS

  • The first one i belive

  • I saw Ann Miller in Sugar Babies when it played Los Angeles, and I will never, ever forget her. She won my heart permanently. Sure, she could tap 'til your head spins, but she could also belt the roof off of the friggin Pantageus Theater.

  • she's got legs up to her neck!!

  • Mickey keeps up with her step for step!

  • im shooting high got my eye on star in the sky :)

  • Ann Miller was the shit! She my favorite female tap dancer. She was so dazzling and had such personality in her dancing. She should have had more lead roles during hte MGM era, but she was always lighting up every scene she came on. Too Darn Hot, Shaking the Blues Away, Prehistoric Man, she was just amazing! Also, Ann Miller and Cyd Charrisse had the best legs ever.

  • @Tigerlily21 And i loved her number from "Reveille With Beverly" from 1943 :) Its here on Youtube :D check it out sometime

  • Wasn't Molly Shannon doing Anne Miller in the SNL sketch "Leg Up"?

  • Two of Hollywood's most talented people. Has this talent disappeared completely or are we jsut able to accept mediocrity and less as today's standard.

  • I saw Ann Miller live on stage in this show at the Pantages in Hollywood, CA. She's so famous for her tapping, but let me tell you all something: Ann Miller BLEW THE ROOF OFF with that voice. I will never forget it. Incredible singer, unbelievable legs, fantastic performer. I worship her from seeing that performance.

  • I'm breathless after seeing this wonderful performance! Enough said, except: 5 stars, straight into my Favs!!!

  • That was awesome! Yays!

  • Both dancing JUST as great as they did the 40's MGM flickers. Amazing!! Rooney is fantastic.

  • Great clip. I saw Sugar Babies late in its run on Broadway and it felt like opening night. Rooney was on fire and Ann Miller was amazing. She tapped quite a bit in the show. I understand that the songs/sketches changed from time to time over its 3 year run on Broadway and another 3 on the road. This song set isn't in the show, or isn't listed to be but may have been at one time or another. I am thrilled I have such vivid memories of it.

  • I didn't know MR played piano like that, or sang like that. Holy cow! These folks are truly STARS, old school or new.

  • damn...everytime I decide I don't like Micky Rooney...I just have to change my mind..be doing it for fifty years..you would think I would just give in..love Ann Miller..

  • so i haven't been doing it that long, but I change my mind all the time too~LOL~

  • i love this video clip, i have it on dvd, was good to see it again.thanks for sharing.

  • Fabulous, unique and brimming with star quality. What a pair of pros!! Loved it

  • What songs are they singing? I got "I'm Shooting High" and "On the Sunny Side of the Street" but what are the others?

  • I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please view my clip of some rare 1940's movie star cards, including Ann Miller , Humphrey Bogart, Judy Garland, Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, Errol Flynn,

Ronald Regan, Lauren Bacall, Bing Crosby and many more.

  • Legs

  • What a power house even late in her life. Still my favorit is shaken the blues away from easter perade

THE ONE THE ONLY HER TAP,S MISS ANN MILLER

  • I hav watched this clip for many years, at the television museum in NYC.

Boy oh boy, the kids today are not taught how to "give it." You jusrt cannot beat good old time talent.

Some people say it is out of fashion, but when some one like Nathan Lane does it, it becomes a smash hit.

Thanks for posting this clip on Youtube

  • Gee, thanks for posting that! I conducting the show on Broadway (I'm the "hit it, Glen" Annie gestures to.) Such great memories! Post more!

  • I wonder how much money she spent on hairspray.

  • Yeah, some wag once said "Did 'ya hear about poor Ann Miller....she fell down and broke her HAIR!

  • ROFL !!!!

  • why is she is not tap dancing

  • no one cud give merman a run for her money! but ann miller (a friend of betty grable) she was a true star, i,ve looked for this clip for years fantastic!

  • I had no idea Ann Miller had such a powerhourse voice. It's amazing. She really gives Merman a run for her money! And She's such a BRILLIANT MOVER! Those legs!! wow

  • Amazing. Can someone confirm what age Ann Miller was when this was taken? Her voice is as strong as Mermans = BOY COULD SHE MOVE!

  • She was 57 years old. This clip was from the 1980 Tony Awards. She looked amazing and still had a great stage presence. She never received the top billing she deserved until Sugar Babies. She was the best - a true star.

  • I thought she was 65...that's what I've been told.

  • Ann Miller was a CLASS ACT!!! Thank Goodness I not only met her (and got to help her out) but I also saw her perform 4 times in person!! She was truly an Original!! Thanks for posting this great clip of Annie & Mickey from "Sugar Babies"!
