ok, when they were pouring the water from the bottom chamber to the top, why didn't any water come out the hole at the top

the vortex unit is sealed at the top and the water travels down a tube and bubbles up below the water line. Because of this, when you turn it over, the hole where the smoke bubbles into the top chamber is kept away from the water

I have one, bought it in Oregon. Highly recommended btw. The water doesnt fall out because there is a hole at the bottom of the stem. It is on the side, so when the water falls into the top chamber when upside down, the water just runs right past the hole. Granted a little water does come out, but not much at all...notice how he holds his hand over the hole when he turns it over.

It's fun as all hell though and gets you sooooo messed up!!! $100 well spent!

Hey, im just wondering, how does the smoke get pulled into the top chamber if the bowl stem is in water? I've tried with a home-aide waterfall bong, and i can't get the smoke into the bottle just by the pull of the water realsing?

i don't have one of these but i have a basic consept. the stem gos in the water from the top [doesn't go into the bottom] when you turn the valve the water drains into the bottom. it works like a waterfall. as the water line drops it creates a suction in the to half. there's no way that air can get to it except from the bowl/stem. thats why it bubbles. i love this bong!!!

When you open the chamber, the water drains from the top chamber to the bottom. Ther water falling pushes air out of the bottom chamber through the carb so it can be filled with water. This pushing causes a pull on the mouthpiece, which is where your bowl is, and causes smoke to be pulled in at a tremendous rate.
