Man, I've always loved this song! When we first got cable in '84 I saw this constantly and never tired of it! Don't think I've heard it since (my God, ALMOST 30 YEARS!) Great little rock n roll song. Didn't know Billy was Scottish. Well, Scotland always did produce great musicians...Cheers!
We Billy hails from Kirkintilloch Scotland he's a real nice guy, the last time i saw Billy he was working as an HGV driver with ASDA grangemouth, i knew Billy from my teens and he is one of the few artists that can pick up a guitar and play a tune back to you after hearing it only once(no sheet music required)
Great one-off hit -- so good, you wish it wasn't quite so short! The guitar is so infectious in this song, and the rhythm section really propels it along. Pretty good video, too -- interesting and clever, suits the song, and without pretentious delusions of grandeur.
thats when rock music was going down the drain and the new romantics took over, thanks to guns n roses later on in the eighties when les pauls came back into the scene, then early ninties when grunge came in nirvana, stone temple pilots what a pile o pish....
carajo es la mejor rola de todos los tiempos fue y es un boom de la musica ochentera esa la escuche por WFM ROCK con victor lujan sino me faya mi privilegiada memoria eso era musica no las porqueria de hoy
I think it is so awesome that you are Billy Rankin's niece!!! I love this song!!! I have this video recorded on VHS and I have to say it always struck me as kind of an underrated hit but I seriously think this is one of the coolest rock songs of 1984. I've tried to find the album Growin' Up Too Fast on compact disc but I can't seem to find it anywhere in the United States. Regardless of that however, I think it's awesome that you are related to such an incredible recording artist.
I found this tape in the basement. Listened to the crap out of it when it came out. Was still in good shape so downloaded it into computer then burned it to CD. This music rocks.
When this came out I thought he was ripping off Billy Squier! The whole sound is something right off of Don't Say No. Nothing like he would have done with Nazareth. Thanks for posting this bizarre video that otherwise would never be shown again!

Though not in Nazareth long term, I believe I did get to see him live in the band's lineup. Minneapolis

Billy does a grand job. I am happy he and Nazareth did their thing. I hope to see some more from these fine artists. Nazareth is awesome.
