I was raised as as Jehovah's Witness and am now an agnostic atheist. I can say that they are completely brainwashed and mind controlled. They are unable to use logic or reasoning. They are not allowed to question or think independently. Speaking to them to try to convince them is nearly pointless. The emotional support is conditional and fake. T
For me, the hardest thing to reconcile is the fact that, if you're gay, you're expected to be alone and just act like it's your 'special problem' that God will fix. At some point I stopped believing that, and I'm glad I did.
