Hey mate, i have this dock too, my remote sometimes doesnt work , the bateery sometimes shifts so all i do is pull it out and put it back in and it works fine, and nice taste of music :)

the audio is a little quiet at times. maybe sit closer to the mic or check the cam out to make sure its not faulting on you.

Also with the ipod try updating the ipod if there is a fw update or check the logitech website for updates for the dock itself.
